I've been having really really heavy periods ever since I got this birthcontrol. Its called Implanon, and its really new. anyways, ive only had a few days break from this pd since i got it on April 25th. thats heavy bleeding since then. ive been extra tired, gained weight, had chest pains for 3 days now, and its been hard to breathe (chest feels too tight to expand) I was anemic at the end of my pregnancy, and i think thats how i am now with the birth control... what should i do?

If you are having chest pain you need to grab your prescription and go to the ER.

If you choose to not go to the ER you must stop the BC immediately and call you Dr. in the morning.

I am one of the women who has had life altering side effects from Ortho Evra and no I am not suing. I just want to feel better and get my life back. Ortho Evra was brand new when I went on it and I still suffer almost 3 yrs. later.

Good luck!

Seems to be alot of newer birth controls that arent so great after we the guinea pigs take it for a while. In the end I would try to stick to the older, more proven birth controls.

I switched BC's and the one I was put on made me have periods that were absolutely dreadful. every day for about 3 weeks straight. Told the dr and they got me switched back to something that wouldn't mess up my system like that.

Get rid of it and switch to a different type of birth control. Usually the new stuff isn't really that great.

I would definitly stop taking it and see a doctor. Those are not normal symptoms.
