Hi. I'm going to be entering a six-year, straight pharmacy program, but I'm seriously considering applying to a medical school after a few years. My questions are: 1) How many years do I have to complete at the pharmacy college before I enter into a medical college. 2)What major would I need to have to be eligible for medical school 3)What classes would I need to have completed that I would not be taking at a pharmacy college. Please if you can help me out wit these questions, I am really clueless and concerned. Thanks.

The academic admission requirements for US med schools are fairly standard:

Biology with lab (1 year, 8 semester hours)
Inorganic Chemistry with lab (1 year, 8 sem hours)
Organic Chemistry with lab (1 year, 8 sem hours)
Physics with lab (1 year, 8 sem hours)
Calculus (1 year, 8 sem hours)

And the MCAT. Med schools require a minimum of 90 semester hours (including the prereqs) but most prefer you obtain an undergrad degree. What the degree is really doesn't matter as long as you have completed the prereqs.

You should go to the Association of American Medical Colleges web site. The AAMC has answers for just about every question you might have.

I'm not addressing all of your questions, but would suggest: 1. developing good study habits, 2. getting the best grades you can, 3. taking part in extra-curricular activities to become a well-rounded person, and, 4. don't beat yourself up over deciding immediately on your life's work . I'm just guessing, but think that you have until the end of your sophomore year in undergraduate school to choose. However, make sure you check the medical school catalog to ensure that you take the pre-requisite courses.
