The answer is hope, and trust. Hope that a psycho killer will not target them. Trust that it wouldn't happen in the first place. IMHO, there really isn't such a thing as a "safe place" anywhere, there are only places that are safer, but not completely safe. If you are famous you might be the target of a stalker, but even if you aren't famous you might be the target of a stalker. I don't use a picture on here because I like the anonymity so that I can answer questions freely without fear of violent retribution by fanatical lunatics. Its really up to the person, but you definitely have a point - the world is NOT a safe place.

not only do i do that but in my 360 i mention where i live and what i do. the reason i do this is because i don't wish to seem like a big bag of wind like so many you'll no doubt see around here, people can at least contact me if they have a problem with anything i say. it's always been a belief of mine that people should be accountable for what they say and do, nothing comes without cost even freedom. if you want to do and say a thing then pay for it by standing by it, granted it may not be much but it's a start

What does it matter to you what people do? Its their damn business. Besides my pic is a little out of focus. Any way I would like to know who I have on my buddy list and who I am talking to from time to time. Than some damn cartoon image or even no image at all. And you dont place your personal info on the net any one should have the common sense not to do that. With a photo you cant be tracked down.Xx

We see pictures of all of kinds of people (actors, singers, models, etc.). That risk is when addresses are given out - not pictures. The only risk with pictures is that weird people may do weird things with them.

Just because someone can see my photo online doesn't mean they're going to be able to track who I am. They might know what I look like, but that doesn't mean that a. if they're in my area, they'll recognize me and b. that they'll know anything else about where I live.

Strange. I dont know why Girls are so worried about it. Even if a guy wants to stalk you, how on earth can he find you?
Unless you put your full address on the internet no one can find you. End of story.
