ummmm.... yes it's too much to expect!!lol. the average age for baby to start walking is 9-10 months old. besides lets forget about averages and everyone elses baby. just like an adult, babies have their own pace at doing things whether crawling , walking, talking, growing teeth, growing hair, independatly eating, potty training, dressing themselves, etc. so sit back and watch your little one blossom! it's beautiful. most children dont start crawling until 6 months. breathe and take it easy. no matter what books say, your child is not a book or statistics. my baby started to slither at 7 months. at 9 months she was crawling. at 12 months is when she took her first steps. now i cant stop her from running! lol. but guess what? before she could crawl or walk she had a mouth full of teeth. before she could walk she could eat by her self. other mothers i know, their children can walk but even say mama. or can talk and walk but cant use the potty by themselves. Let her be a baby. expose her to crawling by crawling urself. give her something to pull her self up with. put her on her tummy on a play mat on the floor. its not too late to stil give her tummy time. do ur part first. have fum being a parent. its aewsome befor they are teens. so enjoy!

I am a mother of two and yes, 8 months is pretty early to start walking so you are probably expecting too much if you're shooting for the 8 month mark. In fact, some babies aren't even crawling by then! I've heard of some babies walking as early as 9 months, but usually it is closer to 1 year old or even older (13-15 months). My son crawled at 7.5 months and walked at 11. My daughter crawled at 8 months and she is only 9.5 months now and is not walking, but pulling herself standing and "cruising" on furniture.
Since your baby is only 6 months old, I'm not surprised she isn't crawling yet- most aren't! It isn't laziness I'm sure. She'll get moving when she is ready and no, not all babies do crawl- some roll across the floor and some skip crawling and go right to walking! Don't get too anxious on her mommy! Soon enough she'll be up on all fours and rocking back and forth then she'll just take off on you one day! (Well, at least that his how it happened for me :)

Get a grip! Babies are not lazy at all! You must be a first time mommy! :) They all learn at different speeds and no, not all babies crawl. Some learn other ways of moving about. Yes, 8 months is a lot to expect but it is not impossible.
Normally, at 8 to 10 months old, your infant should start to crawl. And, she starts pulling himself to a standing position while holding onto furniture.
At 10 to 12 months old, your baby starts to "cruise" which means walking while holding onto furniture. And, your baby may start to walk alone but may not have very good balance.
These are averages, some crawl and walk sooner..and sometimes later. Trust me, you don't want your baby walking any sooner than is necessary. You will be a much busier person when that day comes!! You will be wishing she would sit down and be still! :)

Our daughter started crawling at 7 months and started walking at 12 months so it may be a little harsh for you to expect her walking by 8 months. Also keep in mind that some babies skip the the crawling and go straight to walking but I still think that 8 months is a little young.

They should start to crawl I'd say around 6-9 months old, walking around 9-12 months old. The talking well thats kind of hard because some infants develop at a faster rate then others. This is clearly up to the infant themselves on when the want to talk. Put the will point out to things that they would want or need. Yeah you definetly don't want to freak your mom out about this question. Good luck with your short story.

At 6 months they should just be sitting, around 8-10 months crawling and 10-14 months walking. Let your baby be a baby! They will walk when they are ready!

Babies start walking when they want to. Not because you want them to.
Most babies walk around their first birthday. Anytime before this is considered very early, however lots of children do walk early. Some kids don't walk until they are 18 months old.
You are expecting far too much from your baby at such a young age. Have you heard the saying 'baby steps'? This means everything is done at a slow and steady pace, when the baby is ready. Read up on some books about babies and toddlers, that will give you an indication of when certain milestones happen.

Walking by 12 months is the "norm" I would say. Even 9 months is extremely early! And I know about wanting them to move...I was the same about my son crawling, but now that he does, I am constanlty chasing him, taking him off the fireplace, the stairs, you name it....he is all over! Enjoy the little time you have left where you can put her down, and she will stay there! My son started crawling at 9 months, and he is 10 months cruising holding onto things now and starting to stand without holding onto anything. When he starts walking...we are in trouble!

you are expecting to much. you can't put a child on a timeline that you created, they develop skills when they are ready, therefore you need to adjust to her timeline. most babies crawl at 6-10 months and walk at 9-18 months. at 6 months you can expect her to sit up pretty much unassisted and maybe 'scoot' across the floor in some way. i recomend that you buy the book 'what to expect the first year' it's a great book and it will tell you what you can expect your daughter to be doing month by month.
enjoy her now when she is 'portable' though and you can sit her in one place and she stays there because once she starts walking, she won't stop :o)

Wow, just wow. Your going to be one of those mothers that pushes their children into crap there not ready for. No, not all babies crawl and 8 months is extremely young to start walking, most infants dont start walking untill the age of 11-14 months if not longer.
