I think one should put a stop to harassment not politely and passively resign oneself to it as if one deserves it, is the cause of it and must put up with it.

well, i would confront them >.< Tell them straight forward that they have no right'z to tell you how to live YOUR life. No one but you should choose how you live.

Hi there, rise above them and ignore them. Take the higher ground and keep your dignity in tact. Don't give them ammunition by telling them personal information (which you clearly have been doing, or else why would they tell you how to live your life), and finally start looking for another job. Labelling people as "white-trash" puts you on the same level as those you are insulting, so refrain from name-calling and be strong.

Don't call them white trash or they'll beat your butt. I have learned to just ignore ignorant people and make the best decision for my life that I can. Many times if you just ignore someone that is bothering you, they will get the idea and go away.

In every life there are those whose opinions matter to us and those whose opinons need not matter. Those who do not matter may be ignored. The real question is WHY the opinions of these people affect YOU. Figure that out, deal with it appropriately, and then life will be so much easier.

I am with ignoring them. They are insecure or they wouldn't try to tell someone else how to live. I have a sister who is very bossy, and jealous of me, she is always telling me how I should do things. I quit listening in 1997.

Either IGNORE THEM or find another job somewhere else. Having to deal with people like that usually isn't worth wasting your time.
