How can I buy tampons without my mom knowing?

Okay, well I while ago I asked my mom if I could try tampons because I do sports and things and pads were too uncomfortable for me and I wanted to try something different. Well, she said no because if I did I wouldn't be a virgin. So, I asked what I should do here, and I asked again and my mom told me I would loose my virginity if I did even though I showed her several websites that proved this false. Then I wrote her a report about why I should be able to use tampons and she said that I wasn't allowed to use tampons until I get married. Anyways, I had to quit gymnastics because of this because I could only get regulars from tampon machines and I needed supers and I just couldn't do it in pads. I've used tampons several times, know about TSS, and I know how to insert them and I know not to use them at night or when I'm just lounging around. I can't drive and I can't walk/drive to the grocery store. Any ideas how I can get tampons without her knowing?

Gosh your mom sounds ignorant (no offense). You could talk to your school nurse about it, a friend, grandma, find a way to get to the store and buy like 5 boxes to last you for a few months, or just use the regulars, but you have to change it much more often, but that's not a big deal. I feel bad that this is affecting your life- you had to quit gymnastics! Good luck hon, hopefully your mom will get a clue!

Um, what's the big deal about tampons? Your mom sounds very naive. I'm glad that you are picking something irrational to rebel against... good for you.
Surely you can get a friend or someone to buy them for you. You can even order them off of the internet, but I guess you'd have to be at home when they are delivered. Some grocery stores, like Albertson's deliver to your home. You can also search for a bathroom that carries super and stock up when you do. Or, use regular along with a panty liner-- that is a lot less bulky.
You can wear them at night. I've never heard of any tragedies occuring from tampon usage! :) And no, it isn't the same as sex-- don't worry! Sex is a lot more pleasurable than inserting a tampon! :)

It sounds like your mom needs some education and a good slap. I appreciate your diplomatic approach to the situation, and if I were your mother, I'd say "Have at it!" I'm usually not an advocate of going behind the backs of parents (being the mother of a 14 year-old son myself), but I'd see if your friends can't sneak you some. You probably wouldn't want to keep an entire box around since it would be found out easier than the individual ones. The next time you and your mom go to the Dr., bring up the tampon issue and see if the health care providers can talk some sense into your mother.

Well, what if you ask a friend to get you some, and give her money for them? Or what if you just combine a regular with a really thin pad and make do? Sorry your mom is being so unreasonable about that.

(Or alternately, you could be really bold and tell her you've already used tampons anyway, so you're no longer a virgin by her definition, so it doesn't matter. Sure, she'd be mad for a bit, but then she'd be out of an excuse not to let you have tampons.)

You could either:

1. Ask a friend to buy them for you and give them the money
or
2. When you go to the store with her, say you are going to look for some candy or something to buy and go get that can but, get your tampons to and pay for them and then stick them in your purse and go back to your mom with the candy and act as if nothing else happend ...

She won't even suspect anything happend as long as you don't take too long....
Also just because she is your mother doesn't mean she is allowed to control you... once you are 18 she has no say so whatsoever so don't forget that because YOU make your own decisions... I am 16 and I have to remind my mom that sometimes when she is nosy but, she gets it and so does my dad. Best of luck with your mom.... : /

Definitely ask a friend or their mom to buy them. Your mom is being completely unreasonable. You shouldn't have had to quit gymnastics because of this. Tampon use has absolutely nothing to do with virginity. I would suggest bringing this up the next time you go to the doctor (which will hopefully be soon) and have the doctor talk to your mother. first of all your mom is wrong tampons DO NOT make u lost virginity ONLY sex can do that and try asking an older friend to get some for u and try walking to a drug store they sell them i use them sometimes i just prefer pads because they are easier to deal with

Have your friends buy them for you. Seriously I mean no disrespect to you or your mother but where are you from? Why does your mother think that using a tampon equates to losing your virginity? You seem a lot more educated than your mother, maybe you should share with her some web sites dealing with sex and sexual relations in addtion to the web sites about tampons.

You can go to a local health place (clinic) or something (I think) and ask for them to keep this private, I've heard they can't disrespect your privacy even at a younger age (but this is only what I've heard).

Anyways now to what I know. Useing tampons will not make you loose your virginity. You will find it everywhere that it won't. Its completely wrong to think it will, your mom should know this but if she doesn't she most definitly needs to check up on what she thinks she knows.

well sometimes tampon makers will offer free samples from there webcites but your mom might find them in the mail. You could ask a friend to get them for you. Good luck and im sorry your mom is being like that
