first a 1950 Indian chief, the first with conventional forks, then a 1948 Indian chief, springer front end.
then a few rare 2 stroke street bikes, yamaha rd400, then a suzuki gt750 2 stroke, then a kawasaki h2 750 2 stroke. then a harley knuckle head, maybe 1937, then a panhead duo glide about 1960 . then a Yamaha v-max. then a v65 manga. a of course any many more if money were no object.

A combination. The plan was to buy new reproduction parts to build a simple bike. Repro knuckle motor, 5 speed with kicker, chain drive, magneto ignition..................
Many people think the old style of doing things is unreliable. Truth is, when maintained properly, old stuff lasts a long time. That's how it got old in the first place.
Then again, there's a different project on the board. The Mrs. changed her mind. Now she wants a trike instead.

If money was not a problem the problem would be what bike to buy FIRST. There are so many fantastic bikes I couldn't pick just one. Heck, money IS a problem and I have more than one bike now. If I had money I'd be buying bikes like Jay Leno.

I would also go the Jay Leno route, given unlimited funding:
*Yamaha R1
*Yamaha FZ1
*Honda 600RR
*Yamaha Star Classic 1100 (with contoured black saddlebags)
Each of the sportbikes would be in every stock color available
The Star Classic would be jet black.
I guess I can dream ...

Squeezed Busa w/300 rear kit, one piece swingarm, bored, stroked, w/e would make the engine bigger and scream like you stepped on its tail. W/ a parachute for initial braking.
