Apple Macbook (2.16GHz Core 2 Duo,1GB Ram,160GB HDD,Intel GMA 950).

Dell XPS M1330 (1.50GHz Core 2 Duo,1GB Ram,160GB HDD,GeForce 8400M GS.)

I will be travelling a lot so mobility and battery life are important.
I don't know if I should give up gaming performance for CPU Speed or vice versa. Does the GMA 950 work ok with the Core 2 Duo backing it up? It will be my first mac if I go for the macbook. They both cost about the same price. I currently own 2 Dells and I have been a Windows only user for over 6 years. I've used OS X before so it isn't a problem, especially since it can run XP too. I will be doing a bit more video encoding opposed to gaming. I will want to run Sims 2 and Half-Life 2. I don't mind having to reduce quality settings to get good speeds.
Many thanks,

Hello. My ID is Ms. Dell and I am pleased to help you.

Mac? Who would ever choose an apple computer over Dell? Apple is hell, and that's why I recommend you to replace the H with a D, which gives you Dell.

The Dell XPS M1330 is Thin, sexy design; strong performance; backlit-LED display; included media remote control, and the Romote is attached to the system and you can't see it, which is very neath.

Unlike the slightly bulky, attractive 12-inch Dell XPS m1210, the m1330 has clearly been built with an emphasis on good looks and clean lines, ditching the earlier model's cumbersome, rotating Web cam and thick chassis. The system is slightly wedge shaped, going from 0.87 inch in the front to 1.3-inches in the rear. At less than four pounds, it's one of the lightest 13-inch laptops we've seen--nearly a full pound lighter than the popular yet hefty 13-inch Apple MacBook, and a touch lighter than the 12-inch XPS m1210.

Dell manages to squeeze a good number of extras onto the keyboard tray, including touch-sensitive controls for volume and media playback, an eject button for the slot-loading DVD drive, and a quick-launch button for Dell's proprietary Media Direct software. The biggest drawback we found with the m1330's design was the tiny, 2.75-inch touchpad, which we found to be particularly frustrating given the fact that there's plenty of room on the wrist rest for a bigger pad.

I have to laugh mysteriously at the Mac fans who claim their OS is more stabled than Windows OS. I also laugh at them when they say Windows is more vulnerable to Viruses compared to Mac, and that Mac cannot be infected with viruses. Such comment from them authenticates how uneducated they’re.

The significant reason Mac has less viruses available is because Mac has less values in the computer marketing share. If you have 100 Goats and your friend has 3 Goats, wouldn’t you have more goats to sell than your friend? That’s right. So Windows has 95% share in the computer market, while Mac only has 5%, so Windows is at greater risk getting threats compares to Mac. It cannot get any simpler than that.

Furthermore, Windows is NOT vulnerable to viruses. The uneducated people are the ones who are vulnerable to viruses. It has been 6 straight years now since I last caught a virus, and that was because, at a very young age, I foolishly downloaded a software that was offered to me for free on the Internet.

Now, would you eat from a stranger who comes up to you from nowhere and hands you a class of Vanilla Ice Cream? No! And why? Answer: Because you do not know the person, and there is a great chance you may get poisoned.

The same is with computer technology, you must not download free software off the Internet from sources you do not know or trust.

They’re many Anti Virus protections available to protect your investment, personal data and documents. Why don’t many people use security software? The answer is: Because they’re uneducated

Just remember that the Macbook Has No ExpressCard slot or FireWire 800; lacks media card reader; only 90 days of toll-free technical support The Dell lacks nothing.

The Dell battery lasts up to 8 consecutive hours. What more do you want?

When windows crashes, you can always fix the problem yourself, but when Mac crashes, it crashes, and you won't be able to fix the problem yourself, and yes, your pocket going to suffer.

You have a great day now.

I highly recommend Dell. Visit this link. http://www.dell.com/content/products/category.aspx/xpsnb?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs

UPDATE:

The Mac fans have been trying their best to be recognized by trying to counteract Windows. No matter what Mac fans do, I am here to reveal the truth that dominates their worthless inputs.

Whenever I respond to a particular question, I bring with me what they called “ Facts”

That’s right, facts speak louder than words that full of nonsense.

Macs used to be Macs, but because Macs have reached their limits, they gradually moved over to Windows components.

Windows has been using Intel CPU from day one until this very moment. Macs on the other hand didn’t want to use Intel because they wanted to stick with their technologies. They were so determined to prove that they are ultimately independent. Predictably, Macs failed. They have surrendered to start using Windows CPU, which is Intel. The Latest Macs now use Intel 2 Duo CPU, a component that windows has been using since day one.

I, and maybe you, have heard how happy the Mac fans are. They constantly talk about how they can install Windows on their Mac through bootcamp and parallel. I’m also happy for them, but what they failed to realize is that they’re using Windows, an OS that they claim not secured and stabled..

Why did Mac enable Mac users to install windows on their Macs? Good question, and I’ve ready answered that question previously.

It is the same theory relating to Intel CPU. Mac knows someday they will have to switch over to Windows OS in order to continue their poor success. In order for Mac to become recognized, they MUST join Microsoft, the leader for computer technologies... Since Mac now enables users to install Windows on Mac computers, they have sold more computers than they had previously.

Windows does not need to enable users to use Mac OSX, because Windows users do not need Mac OSX. Unlike Windows, Mac needs windows, whether they agree with my theory or not.

So Windows has 95% share in the computer market, while Mac only has 5%, so Windows is at greater risk getting threats compares to Mac. It cannot get any simpler than that. And that is a fact you have to grasp.

It has been 6 straight years now since I last caught a virus, and that was because, at a very young age, I foolishly downloaded a software that was offered to me for free on the Internet.

Plus, who would ever waste their time to infect such a low percentage of Mac users? Cetainly not me.

Now, check out these links to see why I said Macs are hell.

Please note that Macbook or Macbook Pro LCD can’t be opened fully, which can be a pain in the butt... Visit this link to see what I am talking about http://youtube.com/watch?v=2pQQWB3uZIs

Plus, Dell has been using Romote control for their system from 2004. Whoever said Dell copies Mac totally doesn't know crap what he/she is talking about. That shows how unedicated they're.

You have a great day now.

Look at the stats of your question...its already answered. The graphics chip on the macbook is good for video editing and its also so much faster than the Dell XPS. You will get more done in less time. Also, the macbook's graphics are alright but the stats prove that it is better than the Dell XPS. Also, you can run windows on a macbook so that means twice the software and twice the gaming!!

Macs are sexier, faster and better designed than a Dell...they have inbuilt iSight camera, Front Row media software, faster chips and are far more reliable than a Dell...
Macs dont crash and dont get ANY viruses.

114,000+ viruses for a dell? Not on a Mac!

Besides, who would want a crappy Dell anyways?

Also, where do you think Dell got its stupid media remote idea from? A Mac...

Mrs. D(H)ell is completely and utterly wrong. Dell does not have stronger preformance than a mac, they still use Core duo chips....jeez that was last year, get with the times. Macnooks have stronger preformance GHZ (MAC -->2.16 opposed to last years, 1.5 <-- Dell)

Mac's are better. Any Windows person that I have talked to who has owned a Mac for a week, doesnt want to go back.

Apparently,Mrs. Dell like maing her life miserable by countless virus updates, virus scans and numerous crashes........

As you have specific requirements identified it would make sense to do some benchmarking. Devise some tests then run them on the machines - see what comes out best. You're familiar with both OS and sound as if you can resolve your own problems. If performance is the same, and cost is the same then consider issues like build quality and reliability and support. There is evidence (see elsewhere on answers) that Apples are cheaper to support, and that Apple users are happier with the machines.

OK im not mac expert but i'm the opposite of a Windows enthusiust... one thing worth noting is that Windows Vista will take almost half the ram and cpu before you even throw in other programs, however i dont study up on macs so i cant tell you much more than that, sorry

If battery life is important check out the Panasonic ToughBook. I have a friend that has one and she gets 6 - 8 hours of battery life. She isn't pushing it as hard as games typically do but as a salesperson she is running remote order entry, Word, Excell and her aircard.
