Why would a majority fake persecution? Do they genuinely believe that they are, or is it marketing (us vs. the world)?

It is pretty hard to persecute a majority. Try thinking before you answer.

The South Africa example falls under how a majority is defined. People of color were forced to be separate from whites. This division creates two different populations white and non white.

Persecution only really exists where two or more distinct populations co-exist without physical or administrative barriers. Persecution is a systematic mistreatment, it must happen systematically over time.

It's the 'victim mentality'. Us vs Them. Everyone complains when others use it, but everyone uses it, because it is very powerful. If you stand up on a soapbox and tell people they're being abused, their rights are being taken away, etc., they will listen uncritically and follow you anywhere.

Majorities don't always have power. The US has 5 per cent of the world's population but pushes around far more people. The Afrikaaners ruled South Africa for generations with only a tiny percentage of the country's population. Pizzaro conquered the Incas with a couple of hundred men.

Don't know which particular persecution you're speaking of, but it happens all the time.

Every one is persecuted and there is no such thing as a majority. Every political party and religious label is made up of discrete elements at war with the world and each other. Marketing/propaganda is used by all of them.

I think it is only the perception caused by the media. They report it, there fore it is.
