My friend thinks there is a ghost in her house. How would you get rid of one?

I know this might sound nuts BUT I thought I would give it a try. My friend thinks there is a ghost in the house she just moved into. She has been hearing mens voices and thinks something tried to get in the shower with her. On top of everything she just feels really negative energy there. If anyong knows anything about this kind of stuff, she would really like to know techniques to getting rid of unwanted entities. Please no stupid answers.

if she thinks she has a haunting she really should Call a priest. (I have heard from several people that this fixes the problem)
She can also bless the house her self (but having a priest do it is easier) I have also been told that Crosses,Blessed salt, Holy Water, The Bible & Prayer wards off unwanted spirits.
Burning white sage (Smugging) is also supposed to ward off spirits.

If you really believe in that sort of thing, I think there are actually people who come into the house to do readings and cleanse your house. But if that is costly....which it sure sounds like it might be, try the following:

The easiest way to get rid of a ghost is to simply ask it to leave. Use a firm voice and tell the ghost exactly what you want and why. You might say something like this: "This is my house and it bothers me when you are around all the time. Would you please leave?" Remember, the physical world is your domain and ghosts rarely have any power in the physical world.

Ghosts don't always know that they are dead. You may have to explain to them that they are dead, that they no longer belong in the physical world and will be better off if they move toward the light.

Sometimes you may have to ask what the spirit wants. This is often the case with someone who has recently passed over who may be attempting to communicate to you about something. Afterwards, they may be happy to leave.

If you have a ghost it's prolly cause ther lived there or were baried somewhere under it I'm seriouse when I say this try and just say if there is any ghosts in this house we would like you to leave simple as that this should work unless it's a demon a demon will throw things tho that's houw you can tell the difference but a demon won't leave unless it gets what it wants

If she is feeling negative energy in the house then she could try blessing the house with a simple ritual. Clean the house thoroughly (literally clean it) and once you are finished be sure to make lots of noise. By clanging pans and such and stating that unwanted spirits to move on. Welcome in good spirits (if you want) Of course most of this is reall just for fun. If the house is really haunted by a bothersome spirit then you need to perform a ritual to get the spirit out. I dont like the word exorcism because that seems to bring up bad thoughts in everyones head but you get the idea. Be sure that whatever course of action you take that you are knowledgeable and well prepared.

Also keep in mind that most spirits dont bother the occupants of a home. I had an apartment that had aspirit in it. Whatever it was never really bothered me. Other than occasionally turning on the radio. (spirits like music--- its the rythm which is why you chant and rhyme) Also it would move things and the occasionally thud but for the most part left me alone. If it is hostile then it is time to take action. But remember this... most spirits can't harm you even if they wanted to (which most dont). Unless it is unusually strong there is really no need to fear.

I suggest researching the house and the subject to better determine exactly what you are dealing with.

Well I know how she feels. All she has to do is say a prayer. (I know what your thinking.. omg hes a bible beater.. but I'm not religious at all). Just have her say the Lords prayer. That worked for me, but I also said this

Thrice around the circles bound
Evil sink into the ground

(The only reason I said the one above was because I used to play with Ouija boards all the time and weird stuff happened ALL the time. But then I looked up witch incantations on the net and it said to say that thing above to get rid of spirits/ghosts).

Interesting...

Salt is very popular for banishing spirits. In the olden days, when someone died, to keep their spirit from being stuck in the house they would open the windows, undo all knots, and turn mirrors to the wall. Your problem is that the ghost is already in the house. I know certain herbs are supposedly used for purifying energies and such, but I don't actually know which ones (I know that rowan and mistletoe should work)

Good luck with that. I'd hate to be stuck in her house.

First off I need her to explain in depth why does she think that a ghost has made it presents know to her.... Also has anything been moved... Also did she really see the shower curtain move... For there could be a demons doing those things for that would be a lot harder to get rid of and pose more of a threat to her well being..... I can be reached at [e-mail].. I lived in a house that I was POSITIVE was haunted. I was telling me grandmother about it one day and she suggested that I pour salt all over the house in every room and them sweep it out the front door! She also told me to leave a window in the house cracked so the spirits could escape! I googled some stuff for you too and this is a site! Good luck!

Salt is a good place to start, but make sure it's kosher or sea salt, and not the more common iodized variety. I would also reccomend carring a burning a smudge stick (a bundle of sage leaves) throughout the house. If that doesn't work, try the bell, book and candle ritual.

I definately believe that ghosts are people who don't realize they are dead. I would really try yelling, "you're dead! go home!" And i'm not crazy, i would really do this. Maybe she should do some research to see if someone died in the house a long time ago.
