It's the loss of what makes me sad that makes me happy, and the loss of what makes me happy that makes me sad.

No. Probably not because everything can be so much more complicated. Someone could make you very happy, but you might never have the chance to be with them. So that person would make you both happy and sad. You could be happy, because it's your 30th birthday, but then on that day you could learn that your mother has terminal cancer, and it could spoil your birthday for the next 10 years or more. (happened to me)
Eating chocolate ice cream could make you happy, but it doesn't mean that vanilla would make you sad. Listening to a particular piece of music could make either happy or sad depending on your mood.
Sometimes I think happiness and sadness have much more to do with neurotransmitters, uncluttered thoughts and little moments you experience during the day, and you never know how that will be.

Yes, I believe that knowing what makes me happy is indeed the same as knowing what makes me sad. Why? When you see a movie that has a happy ending, you would like to see it again just because you enjoyed seeing the end. When someone, that has gone to see a popular movie that was shown, and that person comes and tell you that it had a sad ending I, would avoid in going and seeing that movie because of its sad ending.

I think there are two types of people. The happy people and the sad people. Happy people take what life gives them and they are thankful for what they have. Sad people continue thinking "If I had that, I would be happy" or "If that wouldn't have happened I wouldn't be so miserable" even when things go their way they still find something to complain about. Everyone has happy and sad times, but I think some people are generally happy, and others are generally sad. That's just my opinion though.

Yeah, I know we are all connected but I'm sad because I know a lot of man kind is to ignorant to realize this. That's why they talk **** about others to make themselves feel better. Instead of being old fashion and having morals to give a complement instead. Some peoples kids I tell yah.

Yes! Knowing what makes me happy keeps me open to those things, & like polarized magnets, somehow not only draw me to them, but they come knocking on my door. Knowing what makes me sad [would] I can choose to avoid them. Obviously, one can't "always" avoid what is sad, but so much is in our control. I prefer to be a bright spirit & I know ALL the things that make me happy. (I'd rather say, that give me pleasure, if you don't mind.) Being a bright spirit is contagious. If someone who is intrigued by the bizarre starts to tell me something I KNOW will be horrid, I tell them to STOP. They are the same, & they are very, very important to know.

You have to know what is too much before you can know whats enough. Its a balance game and we all have to find the right fulcrum for our particular weights.

Happy / Sad is a seesaw, its more fun going up and down, than to sit by yourself on one side, even though someone might jump off and leave you rocketing to the ground.

Predictable, stable, no bruises on your behind, but in the end kinda boring and lonely no matter what side you find yourself on.

What give us joy tends to be an abstract experience that is unique and often difficult to wholly define.

However, what makes us sad is immediately felt. Our challenge is to consciously give up all that disturbs our peace. If that is accomplished, all that remains is reality responding to our true nature and ideals.

In my opinion, no. Experiencing what makes you happy
is what makes you sad if the experience is not sustainable.
To know what makes you happy and sad is to know what
is sustainable and to experience happiness based on
that knowledge.
