Why do the English love such a lame sport as cricket?

Because it is, quite simply, the most beautiful and elegant game ever created by mankind.
You don't need to be tall or fast or strong or even in top physical condition. As long as you can do one thing well enough, you can help your team.
One of the truly great aspects of baseball life is the camaraderie across competitive lines. A prime example is the friendship of last year's opposing World Series Managers. Tony La Russa and Jim Leland are great buddies and managing against each other in the Fall Classic was a dream come true for both guys.

we like baseball because 1) its americas pastime & 2) its a great chance to get out to the ballpark & have a great day. Baseball is not lame, its a great game. YOU try and hit a fastball, or a good slider or curve, the players have skills & finally, baseball is a game of anticipation, every single pitch counts. if you really knew the game of baseball, you can sit and watch,(as I do) and constantly say to yourself, ooooh, oooo, whoa, damn, did you see that?, good pitch, nice hit & most famous of all HOLY COW!...hope that helps.AKA-best answer

Baseball is the greatest game ever invented. That is why Americans, Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans and Japanese love the sport.

America is not the only country interested in baseball. I was stationed in Germany and noticed Koln (Cologne) had a local baseball team called the Dodgers.

Baseball is way better than soccer. Soccer is the worst sport ever.

One of the reasons America is a superpower is because we hate soccer. Makes for better troops. At least our sports fans aren't trying to kill each other like soccer fans in Europe & Latin America do.

i personally don't like it either. it's almost as boring as soccer, but not quite. at least in baseball the players don't fall down like sissies with fake injuries. actually, our 2 favorite sports, according to the TV ratings, are football and NASCAR. and i mean REAL football, not that garbage soccer crap you foreigners insist on calling football.

Because when you played it growing up it was the funnest. You can just get a tennis ball and a bat and play against a wall all day. And wiffle ball is fun too. I like to still play. Foreigners don't get it, we don't like soccer, you can't even use your hands in soccer that is stupid, God gave hands to use them.
