What would you do if you were the ONLY one who knew that a Giant Meteorite was going to strike earth in 5 days?

Also, for those who chooses to tell others, how will you get them to believe you?

I will get into a space shuttle with sufficient fuel (for the shuttle& for me too) with a set of video cameras and take off about one hour before. I will set all the cameras towards the collission scene. shoot the complete event. The recorded material will be packed extreme extra safe. Then I will get ready for a smooth, peacefull death, directing the shuttle to the infinite depth of the universe. If there is a planet anywhere in the universe with living beings, with science developed, they will get my recorded material and will be lucky to witness collission and destruction of a planet. (We were believing that-Just believing-once upon a time Dinausors were ruling the earth and everyting was shattered by the collission) Dear friends Anybody accompanying me?????

I would tell my friends and family that there isn't much time left and i would ask them to trust me and i would take everyone to the old fallout shelters that were built during W.W.2 and once everyone was inside i would pick 3 of the strongest to help me get food and supplies, since nobody else knew this was going to happen i would just go up to Costco and buy tons of freeze dried camping/emergency food and lots of bottled water, then after about 4 or 5 trips people might start to get suspicious of us or they might not, then my next trip would be to the home depot for some building materials and hopefully find enough filters that could be modified to work for the old ventilation system of the fallout shelters, since most of them have been kept in good to excellent shape by the heritage society i don't foresee to many problems other than food, water, air and order, however those things can be fixed.

I´d move to Iceland. Their abundance of geothermal energy could make it possible for humans to survive (a few at least) if the dust cloud from the impact completely blocks out the sun. You grow the food in greenhouses with artificial light. Then you just hope the asteroid or comet doesn´t strike Iceland or anywhere in the Atlantic ocean. And if it hits on the exact opposite side of the planet Iceland could explode in a massive volcanic eruption as the shock waves converge and fracture the crust.
And I would use all the data and photos I had (I learned about the impending impact somehow didn´t I?) to make people learn of it. I´d send it to every tv station and newspaper. Fox news loves disaster stories. They would gladly spread it even without corroborating proof which would save time. Others would look into it and confirm my findings. But eventually it will be every man for himself.

Well a giant meteorite only 5 days away will be pretty much visible to everyone.

But what the hell..."look guys see that giant rock in the sky, it's heading right for us...RUN!"

I would make dire predictions of the world being hit by a giant meteorite, then, when it happened, the survivors would worship me as a god. I would not have to convince anyone, the meteorite would do that. Whether anyone believes or not would be irrelevant.
Is that a bit ambitious?

To expand on the first answer, a meteor could not do that without completely exploding the planet. Kinetic energy transfer would be so great and fast that it would shatter the earth into pieces. 1. You could make the meteor more of an aerodynamic shape like a rocket ship. That would be more plausible. Not very probable, but think of Douglas Adams. You don't need plausibility to make good sci-fi. 2. You could say "screw physics" and make it happen anyway. Once again I refer to Doug Adams.

I would report my findings to the scientific community to get it verified.. And if it was found to be true then eventually it would go to the media.. I would suspect that am NASA and ESA would try to find a solution to reduce or stop the impact.
They would probably evacuate the area..
The End!!

I don't need to convince them.

If they're that dumb that they can't even notice a large meteorite overhead, then tough luck for them.

I'll just run for my life.

Move to a space, not on the opposite side of(quakes) that is best and farest out of range.

I would email you immediately and tell you you were f****ing right!

Then I would take all my clothes off and run through the streets screaming "The sky is falling! The sky is falling!!"
