I came close to becoming a Canadian citizen back during the Nam years, and my father - a decorated WWll vet - had no problem with it whatsoever.
Mark my words, a reinstatement of the draft will be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
Most folks aren't really touched by Iraq deeply enough yet.
I predict all hell will break loose in America if they reinstate the draft.

Different people do different things to avoid serving (Republicans and Democrats). Those who can't use political influence or money to get them out of the draft or into the reserves (although the reserves are now seeing action) may leave the country.
If a draft were to begin and all people age 18, each year, would have to serve time in the military and in Iraq, we would be out of Iraq in a matter of months. The war is so distant to most Americans. If their children were being force to serve, their eyes would be opened.
We have been so lucky to have an all volunteer military. We need to bring these brave soldiers home and start protecting our borders.

It is odd that you would ask such a question when your President dodged going to war. Your Vice President dodged going to war. How about you? Where are you right now? I don't thing. I am a liberal who has done my tour. Good question though....I'm curious to see how it is answered. If it is answered with facts or whitier remarks which mean nothing therefore solve nothing. One thing for sure is they can't run to the guard or reserve as during the Viet Nam war and they can't turn to college, because no one can afford that (maybe a few republicans). Bush new exactly where they would run. He had been there and done that. And you know what so did Clinton, dodge the draft. But, he admitted it and apologized.
And number 1 answer "Theleft.. I hope that is a Tan...if it isn't then you might reconsider putting down liberals. We are the ones who liked protesting.

# 1 Your government and mine are in the midst of a North American and Mexican Union that has a frame work of treason from all sides
The command of the military is being tranfered to a largely American dominated "Union" hierarchy -
They are not telling you this as it might be opposed but Bush and Harper are trying to erase the border
2 The military industrial complex is going to make sure there is no wear for anyone to run - It is going to be a slave concept and the triangle of your coming ownership is going to be a bizare mix of media moguls the military machine and the banker
Corpratisim - which Musolini called the very essence of facisim is not going to rest until we are engulfed in a sustained war in which the elite are serviced by the death and servatude of the masses
We will fight - an enemy that can never be beaten as our "masters" will be on both sides carefully contriving mazes and battles - each side buying both propaganda and arms from them
So your parroting of Hitler's essential theory is complete In that Hitler said Men do not want to fight But create an enemy - tell them they are in imediate danger scoff at the intelectuals and call those who question socialists unpatriotic and traitors
And men will fight -
How easily the American public has been duped by a stage show performed by what was once a Cpl in the Kaiser army
How easily you have fallen prey to that old boast of Adolf Hitler
What luck for leaders that men do not think

We have a worn out Military, time for the wealthy children to give of their lives and time. Head to Canada that was a rich families way of saving their sons or they were in the National guard( like Bush). If you believe in this war you should sign up.

There isn't going to be a draft. Especially not right around election time.
Besides, I'm sure there would be many conservatives fleeing to Canada as well. If you support the war so much, go fight in it yourself.

Given the track record of service (or lack therof) of the likes of Cheney, Gingrich or Limbaugh, the question should be will the conservatives make themselves available?

The Neo-cons do not want a draft, that would would be the end of their Imperialistic endeavors, as most Republicans would resist sending their own to die for a pack of lies.
