I have every album he has ever made, though it took me two years to find a couple of them. It is mazing to me to think that he has been making hits since I was two. Thanks to all who have answered. I dont think he gets enough recognition in todays country. Just thought i get some nice words strummed up for the "old man" of country music......and might I add, what an actor!

I saw an interesting interveiw with him once about song selection. He said he chose his song solely on the music, if it had a catchy tune to it then he recorded it. The guy doing the interveiw was puzzled about his answer and Strait replied that any song that made it through his screeners had to have great lyrics, so he listened to just the music. This still left the interveiwer dumb founded, so finally George looked at him and said I think it's worked out pretty good so far.

Alot of people have tried to explain George Strait's place in country music history, the one thing that sums it up for me is that the greatest selling country artist of all time, Garth Brooks, calls himself a "George Strait Wannabe". That kind of sums up what he's meant to country music.

I am a huge George Strait fan. I have every album and several magazine covers that date back to the 80's to present. I think he is authentic country and he doesn't change to keep up with the times, YET, he continues to release number 1 hits. He's several country artists' idol. He has a pure voice, and although I think he's a little off singing live, who isn't and at least he actually truly sings live. GEORGE IS THE MAN!!!!

George Strait is a legend among legends, and that's saying a lot. He will go down in country music history as one of the greatest country has to offer. George Strait ranks right up there with legends of the past, and there will never be another like him. His music is consistant and always great. He is one of my favorites along side of George Jones, Merle Haggard, Bob Wills, Jim Reeves, and countless others that I can sit and listen to all day and all night.

I love George Strait's music. I went to a concert several years ago and he was fantastic. He doesn't have to dance around or run around the stage to entertain, all he has to do is stand there, look good, and sing. He is still one of the sexiest men in country music (in all genres of music as a matter-of-fact.) To me noone will ever top King George!

Timeless. His music contrary to some people's opinions does cross borders. Walk into almost any club: jazz, R&B, etc... you name it and a staple on most jukeboxes is "Amarillo by Morning." No kidding. George knows who he is and doesn't try to adapt to his environment in order to fit in.

Humility along with remembering his "roots" also helps his popularity with the masses. With him, you get the real deal: no pretenses. In today's world that is indeed a refreshing drink of water.

He's sexy. For a man who doesn't dance or entertains on the stage he sings good.
