Probably a super 8, best western or travel lodge. The further north you go, the cheaper the rates will be because it's farther from the airport, downtown, and west edmonton mall. (Look for addresses in the 120 avenue and higher.)

Avoid anything downton on 95 to 97 street because its a slum.

Okay if it's $16/a night--do not stay there!!! Hotels/motels in Edmonton that are that cheap are not in a good part of town.
