Most of the day means eating hot dogs and spending time with family and friends. Then we go watch the fireworks and as the patriotic music plays and I'm sitting happy and safe with the ones I love, my heart swells with pride and thankfulness. I get tears in my eyes...I mean, how lucky am I to be here. How lucky am I to be an American?!!! God Bless This Wonderful Nation.

When I entered the military during the Korean war it meant an awful lot to me.

We had a country that was in tune with a patriotic constitution
within its' people as we did during World War II. .

I also remember, as a child standing on line to get sugar and cigarettes because of the rationing of those and many other items during W W II.

Today I am saddened how this country is being torn apart buy
greed and bad legislation that doesn't benefit the nation as a whole, but only for the rich and powerful.

And this day, July 3, 2007, the media is saturated with "Scooter" Libby's release. An abomination to our Justice system all for the pleasure of Pres Bush to hide his actions.

This Bush administration has continuously "slapped" this country in the face for his own pleasure and purpose, but not for the good of the country.

You can best believe if he were running for a second term this would not be happening. He again would lie to the people to get elected.

This is the insidious way of politics. I personally know prostitutes that have better character and integrity than this administration.

I only hope this country WAKES UP and elects a President that is for the country and not for their own pleasure.

Be careful when you vote. GOD BLESS AMERICA111

A day to reflect on the sacrifices that men and women have made to make our country independent from King George of Britain. And, to reflect on how special our constitution of the United States truly is and how easy it is abused by those in power today. God Bless America. My she find her way again on the path of true democracy and true freedom, including feedom from fear and freedom to insist that every individual has the right to believe, worship or not worship and to have respect due to them despite their sexual orientation, religion, gender, race or belief and not have the government dictate what those should be for us. It means that our secular government and constitution that our founding writers set out for us is still the best there is and we should never go back to a theocratic system or a system where one religious belief system dominates our government or the lives of the people.

It is also The day to reflect on the nature of true rebelion to free ourselves from the despot in the White House and the tyranny of the neo-con corporate agenda. It is a day to reflect on how we allowed a fascist despot occupy our government in 2000 and how we should never let this happen again.

It also reminds me that I would rather live in fear of terrorism and fight it than give up any rights like they tried with the Patriot act, for the sake of security. The day we do that, is the day the enemies win whether they are the terrorists or they are the enemies in the White House.

Independence day means what it should. It means knowing why our American fore fathers risked all to design and sign our great decleration. /our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor./ Is the very last line of that decleration. It's a line that tells the entire story behind it. It tells how the men who risked all in a belief that divine intervention would guide them to a free land. Yes, it means that these men who created the great land of United States of America, believed God's will was with them. That their ideas, their will, and their strength all came from inspiration from God. And these men, were ready to risk, and lose, everything. Some did.

It means honoring the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution...along with all the men and women who have died in the line of duty.

Fire works, and everything else is secondary.
