1. Pattern game. Sit in a circle, and have one kid leave (the guesser). Silently choose someone in the circle to be the pattern maker, and have them perform a repetitive motion, such as slapping their knees with their hands, which everyone else instantly imitates. Call the guesser back, and have them walk around the circle, trying to guess who the pattern maker is in 3 guesses (the pattern should change every 20 sec or so).
2. Telephone, Whisper Down the Alley. You know how that goes, right?
3. The Slap Game. Everyone sits in a circle and puts their hands out in front of them, and each slaps the ground, one hand after the other, going around the circle. The direction of the traveling slap can change if anyone decides to slap twice with one hand. If anyone messes up, they remove one hand.
4. Honey. Sit in a circle (once again) and choose a person to start who will be in the middle of the circle. He then walks up to anyone of his choosing and says "Honey, if you love me, will you please smile?" The other must say "Honey, I love you, but I just can't smile" without smiling. If they smile, they take the first guy's place. If they don't, the first guy goes to another person.
5. The Wah Game (the "ah" part is pronounced like the a in father). BEST GAME EVER. Stand in a circle, and choose someone to start. He will throw his arms straight ahead (palms in) and shout "WAH!", aiming at anyone across the circle (I'll call him Bob). Bob will throw his arms straight up above his head and reply "WAH!" The two people next to Bob will spread their arms in a sideways-V toward Bob, shouting WAH a second after Bob says it. Bob then "passes" the WAH to someone else in the circle by aiming his arms at them and shouting WAH again. That person (the new Bob) throws his arms above his head and says WAH, and the 2 people beside him do the sideways v's and say WAH a second after The New Bob says it, then New Bob passes it onto someone else. If anyone misses saying WAH, they're out.
6. Shake murder. Choose one person to be the guesser, and have all the other campers close their eyes while you tap one of them on the shoulder (the murderer). Then everyone opens their eyes and starts shaking hands with everyone else. The murderer will SECRETLY scratch peoples hands with one finger when he shakes their hand, thereby murdering them. The murdered kids must let go of the murderer's hand and wait , i don't know, 10 seconds before dramatically dying and laying down. The guesser observes the game and tries to identify the murderer within 3 guesses. Whether or not they succeed, it's their job to choose the murderer in the next round.
just got back from 2 weeks as a cit :) hope these helped!

I just asked a question similiar to yours and i recieved these answers, hope they help! You could play robber and policeman meaning someone hides and the person has to find them looking for clues that have been dropped or natural objects that have been moved or anything unusual. Or you can practise games like bending poles, flags, barrels all those games egg and spoon, ect. Also using the games you can race eachotha like start of with candy or something then trade them off to whoever wins games. try some games on horseback. such as get about 5 rings each and then sent up cones or poles and ride by them at a jog or lope and try to get a ring on the pole or cone. Try pole bending. Tag is fun on horseback. This is my idea, you could take a feed bin or garbage can and set it fairly far away from the kids, give each of them a flag or a bandana with a big knot in it so it will fall quickly. Put them in 2 equal lines or teams. Get them to trot or canter to the bin, drop their item into the bin, go around the bin and trot or canter back. Its fun and competitive but not dangerous.

Games that you and I played at summer camp can still be just as fun for youngsters today as they were for us. As any kid, they need constant stimulation. Games that require kids to stay in one place lose their appeal in the blink of an eye. Think of things we used to do and put some modern touches on them so that they can still be original (and I don't mean a scavenger hunt involving search engines and the internet). The most simple and least challenging game can be fun for kids as long as it keeps them on their toes. Try things like a scavenger hunt in a reasonable area, physical activities and challenges as well as getting some plywood, a hammer and nails and making an obstacle course. And don't be afraid to reward the winners with a prize. This will make the kiddos coming back for more.

Kids at that age love to play circle games such as truth or dare, broken telephone, black rabbit.
They will also enjoy playing 20 questions, blind man's buff and mouse catch.
Don't hesitate asking them which games they like to play the most. You will be surprised how many ideas they will give you.

Good luck!!!

Tell them it's called
"The dog chasing its tail."
They line up with their hands on the waist of the child in front of them, or they can hold hands,
then the child at the front chases the one at the tail, who tries to get away, but the chain has to stay connected.
The ones in the middle don't know whether they are chasing or fleeing.
