No, put if you're a minor and get pregnant, looking into adoption may the best thing to do for your situation.

I HATE when teens who get pregnant use the "it's my baby and I can do what I want with it now" excuse. This isn't about you once you get pregnant.

If you're old enough to get pregnant, you're old enough to realize that as a minor there is NO WAY you can take care of an infant on your own.

No. It doesn't matter what age you are, it's your body, and you control what happens to it. No good doctor will touch you for an abortion if it's not you who wants it, and no adoption agency will go near you if you're not giving the go-ahead. Times have changed a lot since the days when parents would ship their 'shameful' daughters off somewhere to have the baby and give it up, often against their will.

However, they *can* sit there and try to pressure you into doing what they want you to. You should at least listen to what they have to say since they most likely have your best interests at heart. But at the end of the day you have to do what's right for *you*, whether they like it or not.

no one and i mean NO ONE can force a female to have an abortion. adoption, im not sure of. MOST states once youre 16 if you become pregnant they consider you an adult now; not 12 or 14. at that young of an age, most girls will look to their parents for support anyway, and if the parents arent up to raising another baby at the time, they may be able to force adoption; but still im not sure; because for adoption, both parents must sign their rights. as in both mother and father, so im sure if its upto parents for minors, his parents would need to agree to it as well.

They can't make you, but they sure can make your life hell. Personal experience.

Today, though, if you are being overtly pressured, don't hesitate to call Social Services for assistance. Nobody should be pressured into EITHER of these choices.

I would say to carefully make your decision. If you keep the baby, your party days are done. Lots of young girls don't seem to get that and it's a shame. On the other hand, I have a healthy disgust of grandparents who bully their daughters into giving their children up for adoption when that is clearly not their want.

I don't think your parents can do that. They can kick you out of the house or help you. But a kid is a big responsibility, yea their adorable but when it comes to it they coast a lot of money. But now a days adoption is not like it was thirty years ago. There is now I think its called and open adoption you choose a family for your kid and yet you could still be in their lives.

No, they can't. Legally it is your body, and your parents might have a say in what happens, but they can't force anyone to do anything.

They didn't decide for you to have sex, you made that decision all on your own.

Adoption is the best outcome... because there are people out there that can't have children and would love to raise it as their own.

I don't think so but it may depend on the state you are in. I got pregnent when I was 15 and my mom wanted me to consider giving the baby up so I could go to college I told her no. I kept my son and still went to college. I also think that your parents may not be as hard on you as you think I thought my mom was going to kill me and she was really great. She was more scared for me and what I would have to give up by having a child so young.

Everyone's talking about "the law"... but... which law?
You don't say where you are, so it's really impossible to give a clear answer
You may want to consult a lawyer in your own area... again, depending on what country you're in, you may be able to get names from, say, a planned parenthood clinic, your doctor's office... or even your local library.
On the other hand, if you live in a country which is, shall we say, less on the liberal side... you may have a problem.

I would hope not. I found myself in that same situation and I'm happy that my parents supported my decision to keep my child. She is now 8 years old I married her father and that was one of the best decisions that I made in my life. I think that if you are willing to take care of that child then you should keep your baby.

No they can't-the very second a minor/teen falls pregnant, she becomes a woman with regard to the decisions she makes on whether to keep her baby or not.

I won't stand back and let someone make disparaging comments about teen mums, mostly becausse its down to lack of education that gets them into that situation in the first place.

Once she falls pregnant SHE has the final say in her choice, and is right to stand up and say its her baby, her choice.

For the record, one of my best friends fell pregnant at 14. She carried on with school, sat all her exams, went to college and then got a well-paying job and is settled with her little boy. She's now 25 and her son is the most placid and well-behaved little boy i've ever known, down to her parenting skills and the help of her family being SUPPORTIVE.

ANOTHER EDIT: These rules apply in the UK. Dunno about anywhere else.
