Purple Haze Is Probably Jimi Hendrix' Most Commercially Popular Song, But If You Really Want Inspiration I'd Download Star Spangled Banner Which He Played Live At Woodstock In 1969. Trust Me, You'll Be Amazed! =]

I love all Hendrix so this is a really tough question!
I would say that popularity wise, Purple Haze, Fire, Foxy Lady, Hey Joe, The Wind Cries Mary, (all from the first album!) Little Wing, Crosstown Traffic, All Along the Watchtower, and Voodoo Chile are the really popular ones.
As far as Favorites, I would go with Third Stone from the Sun or May this be Love.

Don't know about most popular. Probably Foxy Lady or Fire from the first album. But Voodoo Chile is my personal favorite (from Electric Ladyland).
