VERY difficult - the competition is intense. Talent alone isn't enough... to make it (even just to make it as a background role). You need to be perfect, and ANYTHING from your body shape to your ethnicity to a single bad dancing habit can get you ousted from consideration.
Actors endure long periods of unemployment, intense competition for roles, and frequent rejections in auditions.
Formal training through a university or acting conservatory is typical; however, many actors find work on the basis of their experience and talent alone.
Actors work under constant pressure. Many face stress from the continual need to find their next job. To succeed, actors need patience and commitment to their craft. Actors strive to deliver flawless performances, often while working under undesirable and unpleasant conditions.
The uncertain nature of the work results in unpredictable earnings and intense competition for even the lowest-paid jobs. Often, actors must hold other jobs in order to sustain a living.
If you love acting enough to endure constant rejection, unpredictable income, jobs you don't like and parts you don't want (but need in order to gain experience) then you have a chance.

hard but not impossible. You pretty much HAVE to be a big triple threat! You should work really hard in acting/singing/dancing right now and you should try to do as many classes/shows as you can right now. one musicals you might want to watch is a chorus line (also a movie) it is of a braodway audition for only the chorus. it kind of puts it in a good point of view kind of. But the number one thing about Broadway you should not give up it is extremely rough and you have to really want it badly! you can never give up and like 80% of the time the reason you don't get cast is not because you don't have talent it's because you don't look the part.
Well that's about all my addvice! good luck!
P.S. I have the exact same dreams and I'm working hard to get to B-way lol! hope to see you there ;)

I talked to Lilias White once after a performance (she was Dorothy in the Wiz at a very young age and went on to the revivial of How to Succeed and was in the original cast of The Life). She said you have to be able to sing, dance, AND act but you have to be able to really WOW! them with one.
It is VERY hard to get to Broadway but good luck if that's your dream.

Well, you have to be a great dancer and an awesome singer to make it in Broadway. Plus you have to have acting skills too.
You're wasting time online when you should be practicing.

People spend years trying to achieve that goal. If you ever get the chance, when you're in NYC go to the actors equity building around 5am and look at the line forming outside for the auditions that begin at 8.

If you don't have CONNECTIONs, it is ROUGH. but you know what? If you are SUPER confident, you should just GO FOR IT. this country is all about living one's dream, and you are probably young enough to give it a good long shot before you either make it or realize you won't... and even if you don't you can probably make a living out of the experience of trying...
