There are sensors that detect coolent and oil levels. It sounds like either the sensors are faulty, their connections are loose, or the circuit that processes their input is faulty.

Make sure the connections are tight - and that they do not look frayed or fouled. If they are OK, replace the sensors as they are a lot cheaper than the next step. If the problem remains the circuit that processes their input is faulty and needs to be adjusted and / or replaced.

Has the generator gotten wet recently? I had a similar problem and it was the control itself. I even by-passed the oil level sensor and still had a no start.

If you're getting a false alarm check the electrical connection on the level probe. If you lose the connection it will sense a loss of level.

If it trips on BOTH at the same time, you may have a bad ground to the control pannel, or a bad "tattle tale".
