I became a grandmother for the first time 12 years ago.
Now I have a total of three grandsons (and I'm pretty sure that is going to be it). They are 12, 10, and 8--my little stair steps. Although the 10 year old is pissed because his 8 year old brother is now the same height as him.

I am. One grandson, almost 3, and a granddaughter that would have been 12 this year, but we lost her at 3 1/2.

My first grandson was born 20 years ago, when my youngest son was only 7 years old. My own two sons are 16 years apart, so it's not much of a surprise.
My youngest son just had his first son, making my 5th grandson.
