conservatives have no ethics and that's why there is so much corruption in our government today. Delay, Frist, Foley, GWB, Cheney, Abramoff, Ney, and Cunningham are just some of the examples of that. I don't like the dems much either but at least they don't have nearly the corruption and greed taht the GOP has these days. We need to get corporate lobbyists money and corporate special interest money out of Washington and out of the election process. That is the only way we the people are going to get our country back and the only way our governmetn is going to start listening to the people again. The one thing you can say about the French is that the government fears the people because the people can shut the government down and they have done so. In America, the people fear the govenment. Time to turn that around folks.

It's not a question of being without liberals and conservatives, but rather a question of behavior. If we all can conduct ourselves in a polite, thoughtful, friendly, mature, respectful manner in our discourse with each other, there is absolutely no problem with having different views. Can we?

Are you suggesting that a middle of the road fence sitter who typically sits back and does nothing but then points their finger at liberals and conservatives is the social savior you think we need?

that is an interesting question! Don't we depend on each other. That is the conservatives for the jobs they give to the liberals and for the liberals who work those jobs. so whats the problem? The problem is we hate each other because the trust is broken and no one wants to fix it!

no it wouldn't. political rivalry has made this country what it is in a way. besides, without liberals and conservatives, there would only be independents and libertarians. independents would be inactive in our government. and libertarians, that just defeats the purpose of government.

We'd be better off if people weren't so obsessed with the labels. Maybe then there would be more attention paid to the real issues.

Then who would we have....the independents, the Liberatarians? They would also argue because they have so many different views that are all over the place.

I didn't sign up to be one of those...it's a descriptive term for the ideology I have on my own.
I suppose you could give it a different name..but I'll still have my mind as it is.
