If when Prince William becomes King, he has a daughter will she automatically inherit the throne after him or will it go to a son if he has one??

The crown will go to a son first whether he is born before or after a daughter. Princes Andrew and Edward are ahead of Princess Anne in the line of succession even though they are younger. If William only has daughters, the crown will go to the eldest daughter.

Well if he has a son or a daughter under current law, regardless of birth order the son would go first. But let's say he only had a daughter and no other child, then it would the daughter and then her children, and then Prince Harry.

I know that Prince Charles was working on an amendment to the British Constitution that would allow a Princess to be considered if she were born first and had a brother that was born after her. He doesn't think that it was fair that Anne had to go to the back of the line because she was born a girl. I haven't heard if this amendment went anywhere or not. I know that he can't pass a law but he CAN suggest/ask them to look into something.

hmmmmmmmm ... I THINK the law re the daughter having second place to a son has been altered,
It may have been changed around the time of William's birth .
everybody else though seems to think the son has the birthright over The daughter .. ( but I am SURE the law changed)( will have to do a search OR if somebody can find a link to support either thought please That would be great)

A son will take precedence over any daughters.
That is the current law;it is possible that Charles may ask to change it when he is King.
