ok so i quit gymnastics at the beginning of this year for ice skating. and when i quit, i was right in the middle of doing my ariel and learning my backhandspring... i can do a back walkover and a back limber really easily but i'm too afraid to jump back into a backhandspring. also, i've been doing really slow round offs into a back walkover with my feet together. is there anything i can do to learn my backhandspring?

i am a master at backhandsprings first of all you should be more afraid not to jump back into your backhandspring because you'll probably fall if you do jump u have a great chance of doing it especially if u can do back walk overs gymnnastics is hard u cant be afraid of your tricks you have to rely on yourself and trust yourself the worst that can happen is u will fall if u fall get back up and try it again u should site throw your arms by your ears and go straight back and ur hands will touch the floor and ur legs will just kick over try it in a pit or somewhere that wont hurt if u fall first trust me i have fell a billion times doing my tuck and it does hurt but learning them tricks is worth it u have 2 be commited cause u eventually will fall the other day i fell on hard wood floor doing a tuck i stoved my fingers and fell on my knees it hurt really bad but the next day i tried it on carpeted floor and it landed pretty good well i hope i helped u have to deal with ur fear! You have to have enoulgh "spring".... Make sure you have alot of cushion, or preferably a spotter to make sure you don't break your neck!
The easiest back handspring comes immediately out of a round-off, but that takes more nerve!
When I was younger and into gymnastics, I had no problem with a standing back handspring, but never learned an ariel. Sounds like you have plenty of bounce, so you shouldn't have any problems, but you have to have a spotter or lots and lots of cushion!!!
Good Luck!

"oh on account that i'm able to do it on the mattress i'm able to do it on the 4 inch mat" so my cheer coach enable me and that i fell on my head so i choose for to propose going to an area gymnastics place or some thing and having a coach spot you and enable you get appropriate form

Do you have a friend who can spot you until you get over your fear?
