Captain, what a coincidence. A reviewer shares your thoughts. Exactly.

Haven't seen it yet. I will eventually see it. I try to keep an open mind each time I see Moore's stuff ( why I dont know but I try at least ). We shall see if it yields any different results than previous times.

Sicko was typical Michael Moore. Completely one-sided, a mix of tragedy and comedy, and quite well done. It hopefully will have a greater effect on the public at large than his other films because, as they say, this issue is completely non-partisan.

I am not sure it will do much to convert those who are opposed to the idea of "socialized medicine" because of their deep-seated prejudices; but it does bring up many of the standard points that often come up in debates, such as "Well this 'socialization' you fear so much works pretty well with police, firefighters, the post office and the library doesn't it?".

His stunt that has been getting the most publicity, with the Guantanamo Bay trip and the Cuba piece that ends the film is the weakest section in my opinion. But he gives a good picture of France, Canada and the UK's systems which all work far better than the insanity we have in this country.

He gets the perspective of a couple of "insiders" from the insurance and pharmaceutical industries to speak on the evils of the system from the inside. I think this was an effective section and could have used some more time.

Overall it was definitely worth the 2 hours to watch it, and I would recommend it be seen by every American, whichever side of the health-care debate they find themselves to be on.

I have seen it and saw the obvious problem of greedy companies

That would have been a great movie if he would have explored other options instead of praising Cuba's health care . We don't have to be a socialist country to have affordable good quality health care . If he didn't have an agenda he would have reached a lot more people . The bottom line is that socialism is not the only answer but he portrays it to be . But he did get the problem out there in the public eye and hopefully Americans wil make the right decision

You may or may not like it, but I recommend you see it. If you refuse to see it, your comments are not very informative. It also makes me wonder how secure you are in your beliefs if you aren't willing to have your ideas challenged.

Yes, Moore has an agenda. But it's hard to disagree that our health care system has a huge problem. We have administrative people making medical decisions and insurance companies making it extremely difficult for doctors with all of the paperwork.

And now corporations are starting to pull back on coverage. As more Americans are having to foot the full bill for coverage, we are going to have a medical disaster.

I own my own business and I can tell you it is very difficult to get decent coverage that is affordable. Something needs to be done and I hope this documentary can begin an intelligent dialogue.

I didn't see the whole thing- only a few trailers and clips on tv and online.
but it sounds very interesting and I can;t wait to see the whole thing.
mike tends to have things shown from his view- but everything has some slant on it.

our healthcare system is messed up, its surprising we need a movie for people to notice that

haven't seen it. I will see it. It made an impressive 4 million last weekend....very good for a documentary.

Moore is a great filmmaker...Roger and Me was his best film. Critics have praised the film so i guess it's good.

The usual Moore distortion is starting to surface.

Facts missing in "Sicko."

— Britons, Canadians and Frenchmen purchase their "free" coverage through their taxes. In America, 44.7 percent of health expenditures came from tax-funded government spending in 2004. In Canada, that figure was 69.8 percent; in France, 78.4; and Britain, 86.3 percent.

— Moore claims that 50 million Americans lack health insurance. In the Moving Picture Institute's nine-minute film, "Uninsured in America," Stuart Browning deconstructs this sound bite and finds that 9 million of these people earn over $75,000 annually and can buy coverage but don't.

Some 18 million are healthy, 18 to 34-year-old "young invincibles" whose priorities exclude insurance. Another 14 million fail to enroll in Medicaid and other low-income health programs. Browning estimates that just 8 million Americans chronically lack coverage.

— Michiganders are shown driving into Canada for "free" care. What he leaves unseen are the Canadians who come to America for medical treatment.

— The Cato Institute's Michael Cannon and Michael Tanner found that, in 2000, there were 13.6 CT scanners in America per million people. There were 8.2 such devices per million Canadians

It was quite convincing...until I began to check facts and then it was quite amusing.
There are facts at the core, but those facts were expanded and some blown out of proportion. I agree that serious reform is in order. But I also know that he exaggerated to the point of almost discrediting his point.
