Both were awesome, and both are still awesome. I want to know which was cooler though, therefore do not answer both, that is a copout answer.

Prime. Prime is like if your best friend had a really cool dad. It wasn't that he'd let you get away with things, or that he'd buy stuff all the time or anything like that. He was a guy you'd go to if you couldn't talk to your own dad.
Everyone looked up to Prime, both literally and figuratively. He behaved in a surprisingly adult and grim fasion on TV, which is out of place in an era known for ending every episode with goofy laughter. He was the grown-up among a bunch of guys who sometimes acted like kids. I'd follow him in a fight, mostly because he'd block all the bullets.
Who was Ultimate Warrior? A wrestler? He headlined one Wrestlemania I think. Yeah, he has the advantage of being a real person, but you don't have to be real to become a legend in your own right. Prime has the status of characters like Superman and Sherlock Holmes. He's stepped outside the bounds of normal fiction to inspire courage in others.

Although the Warrior was awesome in his own right, especially those streamers he had on his boots, alas he is still just a guy juiced up on the 'roids.
Optimus Prime, however, is the couragous leader of the righteous Autobots and he bravely leads them in a battle to save the universe from the evil forces of the Decepticons. He bravely sacrficed his life only to come back later on to retake his position as Autbot leader from the punk Hot Rod. I'd like to see the Ultimate Warrior do that.
