Is there a different key pattern for every single car in the world? If so, who makes each pattern?

The old single sided keys had only 5 cuts, thus 99,999 combinations. When you reached 100,000 you had to duplicate the numbers again. Chevy started in 1966 changing the keyway, so other keys with the same cut would not enter the keyway. There are many more combinations to key cuts now and they are duplicated less, but it would be impossible to make them all different. Each brand has different keys from others, but some will still repeat. The car manufacturer probably picks out the key patterns.

I think they each 'see' the world in a different perspective, if that's what you mean, because surely everybody does.
