I used a brush with warm water and dawn. This didn't work. Also tried vinegar but that didn't cut greasy film. What else can I try. It's dull and lost it's shine and feels rough. Thanks.

Use 409 cleaner to get the grease off. Then polish with a Stainless steel polish any brand will do if it is made for Stainless. Most Stainless polishes have a oil base, use very very sparingly.
Be careful some stainless has a "grain" or "brushed" finish, using some materials will scratch the surface. Like would rub and polish with the grain or finish.

Note: in extreme cases I have used oven cleaner ( the kind you use on a cold oven) .

TSP, Tri-sodium-phosphate. You can purchase it at any hardware or paint store. You can mix it to the strength that is required to do the job . Cuts grease like nothing else. Probably should wear gloves. Its not dangerous though, just a heck of a degreaser. Try it.

409 is best. Remove with damp microfiber cloth and then dry with clean dry cloth. You can polish with small amount of WD40 applied to cloth (not directly onto appliance)

To clean the grease, use ordinary dish washing soap liquid. Then you can use any window type cleaner to shine it up...

Try Windex or generic window cleaner or rubbing alcohol.

That should do the trick.

Environmentally friendly, and it has a lot of other uses around the house.
