Lightly sprinkle flour on your plants, when the plant is wet (When the dew is on them, after watering, etc.) When they crawl up from where they've been hiding, the tomato hornworms will get coated with the flour, suffocate & drop off.
It sounds too easy but it really works!

This all-purpose Garlic spray is great for getting rid of slugs, cutworms, wireworms, & whiteflies. Blend well 1garlic bulb & 1 onion add 1Tbsp cayenne pepper & 1 quart water. Steep ingredients for 1 hr, then strain & add a few drops to 1Tbsp mild dish soap (Ivory) and your non-toxic spray is ready to use against garden pests. Use this spray when it's overcast or in the cool of the a.m. or p.m. Start with the least amount of soap ...a few drops... first. Increase only if necessary. The size & type of pest determines the amount.

Just keep in mind you can make effective, nontoxic pest control formulas using some common household items. Liquid soap, for example, serves as an all-purpose pesticide.

Use just a soap & water mixture alone:
1oz to 2 Tablsp Ivory soap to a gallon of water
Or
Adding 1-2 Tablsp vegetable oil makes it more powerful.

Or dilute a few drops to 1 Tablsp liquid soap in a quart of water and mix with strong-smelling substances such as garlic, cayenne, horseradish, or onion, then spray on plants weekly. You can even sprinkle just cayenne pepper on plants.

Good Luck! Try the flour first. :)

It depends on the type of worm/caterpillar. If you're dealing with tomato hornworms (the big green striped ones), dusting the plants with Bacillius thuringiensis should help. You can get it at most nurseries.

That's hard unless you inspect them every day. THey do make some pesticides that you can use. They are worriesome for sure as I have seen their destruction before. Look and pick em' off if you see them and squash them.
