It means having someone to talk to, share good times with, even bad. It means laughing so hard you think you are going to pee; it's caring about someone, and knowing they care too. It's acceptance... you see all the sides of the person but still love him or her.
I should add that I don't have many friends. I do know lots of poeple, but these I do not consider friends.

A friend is someone that is there for you when you need them as you will be there for them. They except you with all your faults because they can see the good in you. You can talk for hours or sit in silence. You don't always have to see each other to know the depth of your friendship.

Friendship is a subject which I take very seriously. Everyone has enough "casual acquaintances" and "hang-out buddies," don't they? ;oD
Friendship is based on WILLING mutual reciprocation. Trust, honesty, reliability, and helping one another are some common factors. These can deepen over time into more complex facets as: forgiveness, sacrifice, and practically "unconditional love" (I love you "just because," no matter what.)

I try to treat my friends as good as my family b/c they are always there for me. I have a few very special friends who have been with me for years and I love them like family.
