I just put wireless card in my pc, now pc comes on in standby mode. nothing on screen?

Remove the wireless card and check if PC goes back to normal. If not, the card could be defective and may have messed up your PC.

If PC is still OK, check the card for burnt smell or burn marks on the contact pins. If card checks out OK, install the driver first in case you have not done it yet. Shutdown PC then install the card properly. Make sure it is fully seated on the PCI slot. If problem persists, try other PCI slots. If still not OK, try it in another PC to check if it is defective.

take the new card out.

when you startup
hold down the shift and f5 keys

or when booting hold down the f10 key

this boots you into "safe-mode".

from here you can edit your enviornment variables.
