Wax paper is okay to use to line pans but not to cover them nor to bake cookies on top of for the oven. If your looking for something to bake the cookies on try parchment paper. You can bake several batches of cookies before having to use a new sheet and you can use it to line baking pans as well. This has no wax film on it at all and can be purchased at the local supermarket.

If you line pans with it it's fine. Pizza has to be baked at a very high temperature. The waxed paper will probably burn.

No, don't put wax paper in the oven. You can put parchment paper that is very similar to wax paper in the oven- but the parchment paper is placed over a cookie sheet and not placed directly on the rack. Use a cookie sheet and put tinfoil on your grocery list!

wax paper will burn if left in a very hot oven longer than one hour.

Wax paper has been used for baking by the professionals for as long as I can remember. It seems to never have been discovered by pizza makers though.
