Do NOT go to John Robert Powers. They've been sued for false advertising and for basically being a huge rip-off.

NewYorkGal is right, to get the right info you need to tell us where you are. We can give you standard info, but no specifics without a location.

In general, you can look up legitimate agencies on Sag.org. Use the dropdown menu on the right labeled 'resources' and choose 'agent information'. On the next screen, on the left choose 'Find a SAG franchised agent' and follow the directions. You can look up agents all over the US, but there are higher concentrations where the work is (Los Angeles, NY, IL, FL, GA etc.)

Good luck

hey!*!
a good way for a kid to get into the acting business consists of 4 steps.
1] take acting classes at the john robert powers in your area. i know some people think its a scam but that is not true. For the money you pay you receive professional classes from industry professionals who deserve to be payed. You also get a chance to meet with legit agents and audition for their representation.
2.] Get professional head shots done and start a small resume with local work that you have done such as your JRP classes, plays, skits, or drama workshops.
3] send your head shots and resumes to as many agencies as possible and ask JRP for their assistance in helping you find the perfect representation
4.] once you find an agent to get you auditions, try your hardest, let your personality show, have fun and get some jobs!
good luck!

WHERE in the USA do you want this information?
JRP and Barbizon are SCAMs. Don't go near them.

They are NOT a licensed Talent Agency. I doubt if they are licensed at all! Probably not!
