Unfortunately, there is no "perfect" nation. The U.S.A. has some drawbacks. I, too, question our health care policy and would like to see some sort of national health care plan. However, in countries such as Canada, I understand they have the hypochondriac type patients that clog up the system and those in urgent need of medical attention may have long delays before getting it, and they wind up with people lying in beds in the hallways of their hospitals. I'm not sure that's the right direction, either.
As to Iraq, I still have mixed feelings on it. I certainly 100% support the soldiers, but I do question the need to still be there. My husband was in Desert Storm in the early 90's, and I worried about him constantly and am so proud of him and happy that he's home now. The soldiers I have talked to say they are there to help deter terrorism from coming here, and for that, I salute each and every one of them.
As to my overall feelings of America, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else!!!

The only thing that I know of to compare it to, is being a parent. We don't always like the way our kids act. We don't always approve of the things they say or do. But, it's my kid!
And this is MY Country! I don't have to like everything that is said and done. But, I will defend the USA with my life,if I am ever put into that position.Yes, I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!

Australian is proud of you americans. I think its just that you're the leader in everything that came to this modern world. I think Britain owes America during the 2nd world war & liberate most of the countries that were at war at that time.Even the americans liberated the Phil.from Japanese. This terror that exist now is just a mere jealousy of america having all the good life of freedom in religion or governmentBut sometimes the politicians are the one making wrong decision like what happen to Iraq. The other countries are just as good as america anyway.,except you know who????

I am also disappointed in some of the things our country has done. I think that going to Iraq in the first place was a mistake, and that it's even worse that we haven't pulled out yet. I think it's pointless for so many people to leave behind their families and risk their lives by going to Iraq when it really didn't have a lot to do with us.

America has one hell of a lot to be proud of and rightly so but as with all nations there are some things that are questionable but you need not despair nothing is irreversible.

I think WE are cyclic MORONS! Every 4 years the Politicians LIE to us - and we know they LIE! Not ONE of us ever takes a responsible stand AGAINST the LIES of ALL politicians. Why don't we keep asking the hard questions until the politicians finally admit they lied? NOPE, it never happens! No media person ever PERSISTS - they let the politicans off the hook - to LIE and LIE and LIE and LIE!
