I can look at you and in my eyes you'll see some of my soul shine through.
But you won't see all of me.

I can talk to you in words you know and you'll understand me
I can talk to you in words unknown to you and you'll just look at me in wonder
I can smile at you and maybe you'll understand a part of me.
I can frown and you'll see my feeling at the moment
My lips are a small door to my mind and soul
that I open and close as I see fit.

With my hands I will talk to the baby on the street
I can touch it tenderly or or not so softly
I can stroke someone tenderly to show my love and affection
I can sign to someone afar to come near me
I can clap to show my satisfaction
I can wave my hands in despair
I can open my arms to the world to show that I care
If words are not enough,
I can gesture with my hands to make someone understand
I can cover my eyes with my hands to hide my tears or
I can cover my mouth to hide my smile, my shock or my amazement
With my hand
I can sign to the deaf
I can guide the blind
I can type on my keyboard so that I can communicate with all of you here
Through the hands I give and receive.
It's with my hands that
I can hold your hand to show you that I care

Finally what I think is MOST expressive is
CAPITALIZATION

So don't listen to any SSSPATZZZ CAREBEAR :-) :-) :-)
I use it a lot too....so I understad :-)

Be well always with love and LOTS of HANDSHAKES :-)

For heaven's sake, please don't change. Haven't you noticed how other people are starting to use caps as you do? Copy-cats. This is a very interesting question to me. I'll bet most people will choose the eyes as "windows to the soul." (I'll check after I answer.) However, the eyes can lie even more convincingly than the mouth. Believe me. Often, we can tell if someone is lying by their voice,--tone--inflections. I can "pick up" best by the hands. It's almost amazing what the hands express that the person isn't even consciously aware of. I digress! I'm looking at this from a professional point of view. Expressive. Hmmm. I honestly don't think I could choose. I think they are equally expressive. Some people use their hands more than others; a study was done awhile back, where certain types of people were virtually unable to verbally express themselves when forced to sit on their hands! In the "poetic" sense, "...as an instrument of the mind & heart," I'd probably lean toward the eyes, as the mouth is a facial expression & hasn't the depth of the eyes? They can all be honest or deceiving. I love the way you make me ponder, & I just go rattling along as I'm typing! You have a good day/evening/whatever, too. It's about 1a here & heat in triple digits. It's got the old bullfrog's passion elevated. I wonder what frogs see in each other's eyes?

In my opinion, the mouth is the most expressive. I chose
mouth rather than hands because watching the hands
can give rise to presumptuous conclusions and it is
irrational to listen to the hands; if I observe the hands
coming to rest at an individual's sides do I assume that
the individual is preparing to speak or waiting for me
to respond. Neither, I respond vocally and the individual
responds vocally.

Edit:
So many answer responding with the eyes. Now I have
confirmation that people think themself endowed with
the capability to read minds, and a reason for the ill-placed
justification for the break down in communication.

Hey Enki,
I'm a believer that you can see ones soul through their eyes. I believe its a more effective tool than the mouth, as the eyes hide nothing! With the mouth, you can lie!

Nevertheless, hands are probably the best tool. With hands you can use them to represent how your feeling.

For example; when you are upset, you put your head in your hands. When you are angry, you stamp your fist...

Not only this, but without hands you wouldn't be able to write your feelings down. Personally, I think writing is a better way of expressing yourself..you tend to think before you write, so your actual message comes out a lot clearer!

Thank You
Have a great day, to you too!

LOL, I noticed!! I thought to myself now there is no way I cant not answer this question!! ha ha ha I was just curious if you see things in a sense of given duality a lot of the time and thats why you choose to capitalize those certain words? ehh...I didnt mean it in any kind of a negative way, its just that its been plaguing me for some time now. And I'll always be the first to say, "I absolutely ALWAYS love your questions if they have capitals or not, I dont care" Keep up the great work, friend!!
Anyways, for my answer Im definitely going to say the eyes because I know they can never tell a lie!!! Theyve always been the most beautiful body part to me for a multitude of reasons. They see and tell everything the soul has to offer with only the truest of meaning behind every gaze. Without them for me, life would surely be one gigantuous maze without much to offer or implore!!

Each is expressive in their own way. The eyes are expressive in that you look into a person's eyes (most of the time) when you are having a conversation with them, or simply when look at someone lovingly. The mouth is expressive because it is used to kiss, which is an emotional connection between two people. The hands are expressive because many gesture with their hands while they're talking to convey thought, emotion, or action.

sorry enki for writing on your behalf...I know I was crossing a line =).....I have this "raised with Carebears" bias that made me think she was a fraudulent carebear. Carebears should talk like carebears....

As for your 'understated question".....

mouth for mind...communication is key for me...
hands for heart...'action' in tangible ways ...I have been told I have healing hands....which always comes from the heart...

I am partial to eyes being the windows to the soul...which feeds both the heart and hands or leaves them with nothing at all.

=)

A very thought provoking question, kudos..

Sometimes when I write poems or music I am most expressive and sometimes it's when I work with my hands constructing one thing or another. It's tough to single out a favorite instrument from an orchestra, their voices are all necessary for the overall performance.

I would say my eyes are the least inspiring but they often give my biggest inspirations and I am quite verbally expressive but I would have to pick the hands for my creative display.

the eyes is always the most expressive. because a mouth can tell a lie, a hands can avoid to hold. but if you look at the person in the eye. the eye will never lie. because the eye is the mirror of the heart. what you feel can be seen in the eye and ou cannot deny it. people cant tell a lie if you look them directly to the eye.
