acting help?!?!?!?

i live in seattle and do as much theater things as possible and i am building my resume as much as i can. Unfortunately i am a young teenager and cant do anything outside of seattle yet. (movies, ,commercials, television) After i graduate from highschool i want to get right into that. But i am not sure about college, and if i should do the L.A thing during highschool or what. Any advice? i know acting is the thing i want to do all my life. Is there a way i can audition and film movies without totally relocating, or is there a place in seattle than can get my career started? HELP!!!

If you have the ambition and your family will back you 100% I see no reason for you not to try LA now or in the future, however it takes a lot to do this. The commitment is not enough. On top of being talented and have enough money to make it through months of life and acting classes in LA, you have to be able to handle the rejection without taking it personally. You also need to keep your grades in the forefront. Make that your priority because it will serve you well in the future. You should be certain about college. Do it. It will help prepare you for all that is to come. Don't stop your education at high school because it just isn't enough.

Send your headshot, resume and a cover letter to these agents and see if you get any bites. If you're in a show then please mention that and invite them to attend on your dime or see if the venue you're performing at will comp industry tickets:

I'm in the same boat.

I have been with a very prestigious acting class in Chicago and have learned alot from my teacher who has helped with alot of movies and things in LA.

First thing he told me is don't make the mistake of going to LA without the proper training. You may be the prettiest in your town and told you can model and act. But then you get to LA and EVERYONE'S pretty, even the floor washers at the grocery store. You need to find your niche that makes you pop out.

And also, I heard most of the schools in LA are crap. So find yourself a good class and get'cha steppin'!

to get your head in the acting game start taking classes at your local john robert powers. i know some people think its a scam but that is not the case. JRP provides top notch classes from industry professionals who deserve to be paid. They also provide the chance to audition in front of legit agents and sometimes casting directors. Once you show off your skills, maybe you will become confident in your acting skills and want to do some auditioning in NY or LA. If that is the case, you could always go out there for a weekend or something to audition. If your not ready for all of that, keep taking classes and doing local work until you are ready to take your career to the next level and find legit representation out in LA or NY.
