They are two seperate critters.
Opposums are nocturnal and Americas only marsupial. Armadillos (similiar to the anteater) will venture out during the day., but prefer early morning and later in the evening to search for food in the summer. Both enjoy about the same diet. Both are known to be nuisances and unfortunately many die on the roadside. Hope this helps. :)

No, the opposum and the armadillo are two different animals, in this part of Texas, we have both, and , they do have some similarities! My grandfather was famous for catching armadillos on foot, apparently they run real fast!
