Well if you plan to go this year, definetly you need to see Sibiu. Sighisoara is also a great choice. Both are very old cities. You need also to go and visit the Bran Castle if you didn;t visit it (the Draculas Castle). There are a lot of other areas to see if you have time... The "happy" graveyard in Maramures or some Monasterys in Moldavia (Voronet is the a very special one...). And much, much more. You should ask your travel agent to tell you more about all the places you can go.

Sorry, but Sibiu (the European cultural capital in 2007, as Luxembourg too) and Sighisoara are not villages, but old, wonderful cities. You can visit all Transylvania and many others places in Romania.
