A guy that I know really likes me at work. (Hes always staring at me when he doesnt think I know).
Today he came into the coffee room and said 'Hi' timidly and whereas on his way out - another yoing woman came in and he said 'hi ya' in a friendly voice to her.
Why didnt he be friendly with me? He's always stared at me since day one but rarely acts confident around me but does around other women/girls.

He is obviously attracted to you and may be shy about it. He seems to be hoping that you might make the first move in getting to know each other. He may not feel confident in asking a girl out. If you like this guy, it sounds as if you may need to give him some help and start a conversation beyond "Hi". Good luck.

In his mind you are all that...and more.
He's so taken by you he's just a little intimidated. He doesn't care what the other women in the break room thinks of him...but he dose care what you think...so he plays it safe and doesn't say anything at all.
If he engages you in conversation he risks (in his mind) saying/doing the wrong thing...and looking like an idiot.
Would it be better if he just blurted out..."Hi...ah....um...I think I love you"? Or something dumb like that.
If you like him, try to find a way to put him at ease...try talking first. If you don't like him...don't worry, he probably won't get the courage up on his own.

Well, you could always strike up a conversation with him, just to feel him out. To see where he is coming from. Could be he likes you, but is shy. There is only one way to find out. Simply, ask him. I would. I would say I see you staring, at me and I wonder did you like what you see. LOL

sounds like hes got a crush on you and is shy when i was younger and fancied someone i would turn in to a gibbering idiot. or maybe he just simply knows the other women better. if youre interested in him then next time you get a hi say hello and strike up a conversation see how it goes. its sounds like you want to.

it seems to me like he's a dude who likes to get with chicks
but it is easy for him to talk to other girls becasue he has no emotions towards them so it doesn't feel stressed out about like seeming stupid or saying the wrong thing
and if it is true that he stares at u and finds it dificult to have a normal conversation with u without feeling all timid and such, it is because he likes u and is afraid to fuc*k up and seem stupid in any what way....

because he likes you and as a female youre scary...and may eat him alive.!! he fancies you - or you have a huge hairy mole on your lip that he cant take his eyes off....
arrange a social drink with loads of you from the office - invite him, that should break some ice

The reason why he acts timid and shy around you is because he probably has a crush on you. You should probably ask him about it to find out for sure.
