I have heard that 32mb is the best my mother board will support. Is this correct ? I currently have a 16 mb 1.5 volt

It looks like you currently have a 4x AGP card. To be up to date and be able to play newer games, you would need at least a DX9 card. An ATI 9550 would be OK and 9600 Pro would be better. If your AGP port is 8X, you may opt for faster cards like a 7300GT AGP. More powerful cards would need a power supply upgrade.

You motherboard shouldn't care how much video ram your pc has. Any AGP or PCI (not pci express) video card should be ok.
