"In an inner city area, a person is more likely to be robbed by a minority then a white person."
" More violent crimes are commited by minorites then by whites ."
"Minorities commit a disproportional number of crimes if one looks at their numbers in the united states."
All are true, if one is to believe that all statistics are true (if they are or not is another argument- lets assume they are, for the arguments sake). Why do people scream 'racism' when someone brings up a statistic like that? How is something racist if its true?
(I'm just curious, so don't jump down my throat, please.)

Vi_girl, you're kind of right. Yes, most serial killers and violent rapists are white.
But you're trying to say there are more serial killers out there then there are car jackers, muggers, murderers... thats just ignorant.
If you're going to try to meet facts with facts, at least try to present a solid case.

Why won't anyone answer the question instead of just pulling the race card and calling me racist?

If you are presenting these facts merely to bash another race or turn people against another race, then its racist.
The facts themselves aren't racist at all, its what's done with them that distinguishes between right and wrong.

One could conclude that because anyone can make a statement, the amount of truth contained therein is relative at best and all statistics are subject to error and bias. As a rule, when we make the distinction of race, especially in a negative light, we allow room for a racist perspective--intended or not. There are many people that allow certain statistics to determine how they interact with their neighbor before they actually meet their neighbor--in this way, fear, along with this new found 'pre-judgement' (prejudice), they are cut off from any confirmation that people are just people and not 'genetically' bound by way of ethnicity, to ANY anti-social behaviors found in every race anywhere in the world. People seem to be more concerned with the "who's" than the "why's"--finding out why creates far fewer victims than the current practice of finger pointing that only makes things worse...

Your wasting your breath love, although I commend you for trying. Political correctness has taken over the asylum, and therefore your 'racist' unless you start attacking white people. Statistics are also nonsense, you have to agree with great-2-8, I bet my life there are more black murderers and rapists in Africa then there are whites, easily.
In the states, well white people for the time being are the majority so the law of averages is going to suggest that the white figures are higher. Racist is a term used to easily these days, and your question doesn't warrant it.

Stats can be altered if they want to prove a certain point, they will use data from certain areas etc. In a whole low-income areas are more prone to violence because they feel that it's there only escape but lots of bigger more violent crimes are committed by non minorities. Such as school shootings, embezzlement, white/blue collar crimes, serial murders etc. Those are not as reported as often as other petty crimes. But facts are fact but who is bringing the fact and the purpose they are using it for can be what some considers racist. If they use it to prove that only minorities or non-minorities commit crimes than that is racist.

For one, stats don't tell the whole story. You can find a bigger causal link between crime and poverty, than you can between crime and race. Most statistics like these have more to do with the class status of minorities than it has to do with any purported genetic trait or inherent behavior.
But when you list statitistics like this, it takes none of that into account. It simply perpetuates stereotypes.
Secondly, the intent of the person who is speaking is a big factor in others determining whether or not it is racist. Most people on here who post stats like this are not doing it with noble intentions. They are doing it specifically for the effect that they know that it will have, which I explained above. This can usually be verified by looking at some of the other overtly racist questions they have posed.

ITs racist because of the use of the term minority. Understand the idea of "Race" is a.... not really ignorant as much as.... misinformed... see you can't truly divid people based on a concept that doesn't esistence which is exactly what race does. Like me for instance, you can call me a "white" boy thats fine, if misinformed becaue really I'm a German/polish/english/indian/Irish/Hybrid mutt American, thats a little bit closer to the truth. So in reality its just a system that was met to.... make it easier to classify people... its just unfornatunely its based more on apperance as oppose to the true nature of what makes us. See really if you want to look at orgin to indentify people we would all pretty much be in our own catagory are all in the same one. Theres no fundemental differences. But thanks to fathers way before us, they thought they saw one. So now were stuck trying to use a system that was based on a very... naive perception of humanity, and use it in a world were people are a tad bit smarter then that. I still can't for the life of me figure out why I have to tell people I am caucasion on every damn thing I fill out, piss me off, I'm a lot more then that one word, as I know everyone else is to.... but as long as we see race, well always have racism..... same with sexism to, as long as we want to see a differences, we'll see it, were human for christ sake and capiable seeing what ever the heck we want. Just this I feel should of died with the comm scare of the 1950's but I think the governement has a lot to gain thru social control but making us see it, helps to divide the people, and keep them contempt and not willing to form a revolution. Which right now we need.....

Where are your sources? They are racist because they are unfounded and unsubstantiated. Have you ever taken a statistics class? These statistics you speak of are cross sections of info. Meaning they are not actual numbers but representative(made up) using statistical equations.
So if I were to say most pedophiles and serial killers are white, would you think that is racist? It's more honorable to commit a crime out of desperation rather than out of mental illness. At least with minorities, if you address the issue of poverty, they won't commit crimes. How do you prevent a serial killer from committing crime? Tying your tubes would be a good start.

People, usually liberals, look for every opportunity to get upset and blast someone. They apparently feel as though it somehow gives them standing. There is little one can say, that can't somehow be construed as racist. In the 1991 presidential election, Ross Perot was reamed for referring to an audience of black people, as "you people." I have concluded that the word "racism" means absolutely nothing, but has turned into a club with which liberals use to beat others over the head. My attitude is, I don't give a rat's a** if someone calls me racist. In my heart, I know I'm not.

well, facts are facts. How can those people deny them? just like they accept that more serial killers in the united states are white, they should accept that more violent crimes are committed by blacks. it's not hard to accept. only blacks cannot accept it. it's funny though--how they come up with the serial killer argument. LOL there are probably 200 white serial killers within a century. how is that a white problem compared to 200 black on black killings in new orleans, alone, this year? LOL

The way you stated these things is actually not racist. You identifying a specific group and making the same staements about them would be. You're walking a grey line- but ultimately not being racist as you are only stating "minorities" and not a specific group. Afterall, "minorities" in general could by almost any group if you narrow it down enough.
EX. white men over 35 that work as elementary school teachers- they would almost certainly be the "minority" group in that particular setting- but not by overall population.
Statistics are a funny thing that can easily be manipulated to come out to prove or disprove your case with the same set of information.
