A sunroof is stationary and only tilts up and down in the back with a lever (mostly on older cars). The moonroof opens and closes fully with an electronic motor. Most cars you see these days all have moon roofs

As far as I know, we used to consider a moonroof one that was not tinted (because you want to encourage light to come in under low-light conditions). A sun-roof would be tinted (or, very dangerous to truckers, mirrored!) according to where you live, in the sunnier states you might want like limo-black! The definitions may have changed according to car manufacturer marketing, but that's my old-school take on it.

actually a moonroof is concave and a sunroof is flat and taht's the only diff!

moonroof only tilts up and does not slide back topoen up the sky
sunroof does both

Some people refer to sunroofs as those that aren't made of glass, but a moon roof is glass only

sunroofs are the same color as the car ..u cant see through them (unless you open it)... moonroofs are made of glass... u can see through them ... (open or not )

A sun roof, is a piece of glass up there, and a moon roof, is a piece of metal, or plastic that is there.
