one not all southerners are like that, haven't you heard of elvis? hes from the south, i don't see him driving a pick up truck or waving a flag around, that just the reputation that the south has, some of americas greatest artists and people came from mississippi, and we're proud just the way any high school is proud of their school, even if there teams suck and there grades are low, no matter what people say there proud anyways.

I honestly think it's positive to be proud of your heritage, even the bad parts. The south has had its own share of history. I think it's positive that African Americans are proud of having an African heritage. I think it's positive that everyone who has a heritage in addition to our US heritage is proud of that. I am very proud to be of Irish heritage, even though some of Ireland's history is less than wonderful. Having said that, I do think that while we are being proud of our individual heritages, we should also be most proud of our heritage as Americans.

Are you proud of your heritage? I didnt realize only trailer trash, greasy fried foods, fat people and pickup trucks were only found in the south. I guess we alls just gots our unedjucated, greasy, fat asses stuck in the sand at them thar traler parks. You know what's funny? When people who moved to the Charlotte suburbs from Buffalo five years ago proclaim pride in their "Southern heritage."

Hey I am southern and I am not trailer trash. Why are you hating on southern people? I have dated a Yankee and he didn't mind that I was southern, we got alone great. You shouldn't put people in categories just because of where they live.

They are proud of racism, greasy food, obese people, SUVs, Walmarts (started in Arkansas), NASCAR, Pro Wrastling, Jim Crowe Laws, Peach Cobbler, and fireants.
