I gave a man on the street some change and now he won't stop following me. How do I get him to stop?

Oh god, this has happened to me! Once, there was this homeless man on the street near to where I used to work, and he was just waking up, bundled in blankets. I went up to him and asked him if I could buy him a sandwich or something. He said "Oh yes, thanks!" so I bought him a sandwich and some orange juice, and he looked in the bag and screamed, "Where's my BEER?" (never again). If I were you I'd just refuse to acknowledge his presence. I know it's hard, but just keep your eyes straight ahead and IGNORE him. Even if he follows and calls out to you. Just act like he doesn't exist. Good luck to you.

Some places have laws about begging for money so threaten him with calling the police to have him arrested. FYI: never give a bum money! Even if its a little change, every penny makes a dollar, you could be funding his drug habit.

you made the first mistake of giving him the money... now he will follow u everywhere!! I hope it wasnt by where u live!! b/c i made the mistake of giving a hobo some change one time on campus where i live in a house w/ roommates and he would hang around outside of our place for weeks and come knock on the door and ask for change every night.... My roommate ended up getting crunk w/ him outside and he never came back

Well he is homeless so be nice, but ask him why he keeps following you and if he says because he wants more money give him $10 and before you do say you will give it to him if he stops following you.

Fill up your pockets with pesos, when he comes around, just start throwing hand full after hand full of pesos. im no expert, but he should get the point. =P
