I was a Rush fan in the 1970s. I went to see the band perform live during the 'All The World's A Stage' Tour. Since I already owned the double live album, I could compare - the live show and the recorded live album were identical! Even Neil Peart's drum solo! If anything, Rush should get an award for being perfectionists!!

Rush has always been one of my favorite bands. The music is "musicians music", and the lyrics are thought out and intelligent. I am partial to Rush because I am a bass player, and Hemispheres and A Farewell To Kings taught me how to play in that aggressive style. As far as the Hall of Fame... hmmm, good question. The Hall of Fame is for bands that have made an impact on society, and to start letting in bands just because they are popular sort of cheapens the whole concept. I mean, Spinal Tap is there, what have they done for society, they aren't even a band! ACDC is there so I guess why not put Rush in there? They have been around since 1968; they have proven themselves to be a top international act for 35 years now. Heck, let 'em in!

Yes; I think a lot of very talented musicians have been inspired by Rush. Plus, a few years ago, Geddy Lee showed up at a game at Wrigley Field in full Cubs regalia-- so bonus points!

Are you joking? I love music from that era and I turn Rush off when i hear it on the radio. They have always had a modest following for some reason. They do not belong in the hall of fame.

Coming from a neutral viewpoint: they're not my favorite, but I definitely beleive that they belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...

Nope. Rush is way over hyped. I hear from people the best 3 piece band ever. Seems they forgot the Jimi Hendrix Experience.

Yes they should be. But i really dont think that the directors of the R&RHOF will listen to this thread alone. they have had to played for at least 25 years, i believe.
