It has been done so many times that the humor is lost.
A corny joke is "What use is a screen door on a submarine?" The answer is "Don't laugh it keeps the fish out." This joke is as at least 40 years old and is no longer funny. It may be funny the first time you hear it, but after the 100th time you get bored with it and it loses it's appeal. Something that is corny is something that has been done to death, it has been done so many times that all humor and most sense have left the phrase or the action.

If someone calls you corny, it means you're unoriginal or cliche. Example: "My heart is about to burst with love for you." That's corny, overdone, lame, unoriginal, trite, hackneyed, not subtle.
