i read some answers to race questions and some white people on this site gave some racist answers! but then they say they like hip hop and r&b what is going on there? last time i checked that kind of music was made by the pple they are being racist against!

If you ask me, the white racists on that site are just confused and don't know what to think. You really can't blame them for liking hip-hop and r&b, to me rap and r&b is one of the most popular types of music today because people of all colors listen to it.

I hate that I come on here and all I see is racist " Why Black People" questions. It's even more sad when I see a black person ask a question like this one in retaliation. I know it's so easy to do but don't stoop to the ignorance level. It's not okay from either race. Stay above the ignorance sweetheart.

I agree with EddieM - mainstream hip hop and R&B is basically a caricature of itself and so denigrating to black people in general. I think those idiot racist white people might listen to it because crappy rap music "puts them in their place," i.e. it makes black people seem as violent and ignorant as they perceive them to be.
I've never known a white person who listens to good, intelligent hip hop to be racist. Music by people like Common and Aesop Rock are enjoyed by blacks and whites because they don't hold down black culture and are actually intelligent.

The reason is alot of hip hop music is racists as well. Prompting Chris Rock to say blacks are more racists against blacks than whites are.

hip hop and r&b are very commercial now, and blacks make up a large part of pop culture. they probably dont know many real black people, other than they see on television.
just like people who exclusively listen to Eminem are interested in black pop culture, without black people.

Not all hip-hop and r&b is made by black people. in fact, most songs in those genres have been influenced by some white person, whether it be the beat , the lyrics , or the label.
