If she is physically able to roll over, she should be physically able to move her head enough to prevent any sort of suffocation.
remember, babies were put on their fronts to sleep for decades and cot death was still rare - it doesn't mean anything awful will happen.
there are also more factors that are involved to make it a dangerous situation, rather than tummy sleeping alone to be a risk - hot temperatures, smoking in the room etc
i have put my newborn on her tummy to sleep as she was more settled and she could turn her head right round from left to right from new.
I'm sure your baby will be fine as she is clearly more comfortable like this and is finding what suits her - hope you can get a good night's sleep now too :-)

Babies R us has a little pad you can put her on that has a wedge on each side to keep her from rolling. You could put rolled receiving blankets on either side, just not near her face. She's not old enough yet to respond correctly if she's unable to breathe and there's a serious chance of SIDS if she is face down. SIDS is not that she can't physically move her head if she is suffocating. It is a missed connection in the brain that causes it to not react while the child sleeps and she is unable to respond to the fact that she cannot breathe.

I'm sorry i can't help you with an awswer to your question, but my cousins baby was rolling over at 5 days old. I would say maybe get a bedside crib it may help you sleep better knowing your baby is right there. Good Luck.

My son at four months old was rolling over on his stomach to sleep. I would constantly have to get up and check to make sure he wasn't on his stomach and if he was then I would roll him over on his back only to immediately have him do it again. I told myself never again, if he's old enough to roll over on his stomach then he should be out of the sids danger. However, make sure you dress him so that he doesn't need blankets like in a sleep and play that way he doesn't get caught up in his blanket and suffocate.

yeah he learned something new, don't discourage the development hun. the best thing would be for you go put some type of border on both sides of him, for when he is sleeping, to keep him from rolling over. you can buy the wedges or the mattress that will keep him securely in that position...or be the frugal mom (we have to be at times) and just roll up some receiving blankets and place them on either side of him which will do the same trick...

Back to sleep is safest, but once they start being able to roll over by themselves, the risk of SIDS decreases significantly....if she can roll over (even if it's just one way and not the other) then she can turn her head if she can't breathe. Continue to place her on her back when you lay her down, and roll her back over when you find her flipped, but this does not require sleepless nights watching her on your part.

I wouldn't worry but I would roll two blankets up and put one at each side of her this will make it hard for her to flip over.

if she can roll over the risks of sids decreases, cause she's able to roll or hold her head up. How neat that's she's doing that already. My 5,5 month old baby girl shows no interest in rolling over at all.

When my kids were babies, 17 years ago, they said the opposite. If you are up for something and you notice, then turn her over. Don't stay up and watch for her to roll over. That will exhaust you and make it harder to take care of her the rest of the day.
